Hes trying to prove austin is racist because of what some stupid business owners did that have nothing to do with the actual city. Hes just further proving how narrow minded and idiotic he is himself.
There haven't been one single Austinite say that what they did was wrong on this thread yet. All have tried to give excuses or even give racists statements like the "well the crime must have increased, look at all the black people, here's a video of them all at that mall, they threw money around!" It's not just that one incident, it's combined with the segregation. Austinites don't like there minorities venturing out of their "designated area" and they really hate it when someone points it out. Controversial shootings happen in every major city in america, mass closings because of the presence of minorites don't. Besides, your police dept. can't shoot anyone because they are scared to venture to the east side of I-35.

Look at the numbers of voters, have even 10% of the members here participated in it? The poll is going to be close because there are plenty of people from Houston that moved to Austin and have enjoyed the segregation. I'm welcome in Houston, that's for sure, I've never been called the "N" word here. Can't say the same for Austin.
Really? It's just not some stupid business owners, it's also most of the Austinites posting on this thread. Not one has said it was wrong. Instead, posting of videos of Highland Mall filled with black people for "proof." The video just showed a mall with many black people having a good time. And people assuming it was due to more crime. That was proven false. Hell you have one Austinite saying there wasn't widespread racism in the 1960's, only Houston had this problem then. You can call me any names you want. The facts are that Austin Tx is highly segregated and has shown outright, blatant racism and when it does, it's citizens thinks it's ok. 150,000 people came to our city from N.O. and most of the poplulation was of minorities. We didn't shut one single thing down, not even a snow cone stand.
