kg was renowned as a choker back then b/c he never wanted the ball in the 4th of playoff games. and he still does to paul pierce. i wouldn't say KG is a "killer"
Opinions vary. KG gives maximum effort every game (Defensive Player of the Year ie.killer) and that finally helped get him a ring. And if he defers to Paul Pierce who is a natural scorer then KG has learned that is what it takes to win. I am a huge rocket fan and not a hater, I just call it the way I see. In the past I used to wear my T-Mac goggles but this year I have taken them off and am going to call it the way I see it.
max effort doesn't "help" him get a ring. a better team "helped" him get a ring. we've seen the greatest players who left their hearts on the court to not win (barkley, stockton, malone, ewing, nique...). so it's not about effort. KG defers not b/c pierce is a more natural scorer than KG is. KG is just not a guy who steps up in crunch time. KG could put up 30 if he had the mentality to score (his offensive game can be unstoppalbe if he wanted it to). yao gives max effort all the time, what has he done? artest gives max effort all the time, what has he done? battier gives 2x the max effort, and what has he done? people need to get one thing: teams win games.
That's one thing people have been ignoring recently. McGrady has been playing better defensively -- especially last night.
I would trade T Mac for some GOOD young ballers quicker than a shut in on a twinkie. Bring the rebuild on after our record can make the playoffs and then start fresh next year with young guys with playoff experience around Yao. at this point I'll take a couple fresh guys with the guys we have already. Tmac for Marion and Dorell Wright?
i agree that T-Mac, while not 'untouchable,' is likely not being shopped around. though i'm sure this latest rumor will likely field NJ pipe dreams like below: Vince + Devin Harris for T-Mac + AB but i mean, if something like this were to come around, then, 2010 or not, Morey would have to look at it pretty hard. T-Mac for Z-Bo + Eric Gordon + Al Thornton
