but he will not be traded. the team has never said it all throughout this. morey confirmed this a bajillion times (and morey has never been known to lie that much). any tmac trade rumor is made up by the media. i think all rocket fans know that to be true. the chronicle does not work for the organization. they are fans, just like us. therefore, they can express their OPINIONS. and ESPN, no need to say anymore.
he always has been a passer at heart. he really only shoots a lot when the team needs him to score. if he sees yao, scola, brooks, landry, artest have it going, he'll gladly pass the ball.
No, if you actually read my old posts you'll see that I predicted that after he came back he'd attempt to fit into the offense rather than just play his own game. It's the same thing that happened last year. If the Rockets want to go anywhere McGrady might consider emulating Oscar Robertson and aim for a triple double every night. Get a decent number of points but concentrate on playmaking and driving his assist numbers up. So far as the rumor goes did the ESPN guys say that the Rockets were unhappy with McGrady, or that he was feuding with the organization? No, but they did say that he was no longer untouchable. Is that credible? Hell yes. He went out there, let the Rockets send out a press release stating that he'd be back in a week, and then shot that down by prescribing his own three week rest period--which he didn't even stick to. I don't know if the Rockets are pissed off or not but I find it completely credible that this latest injury fiasco would mean that T-Mac is no longer untouchable.
They didn't say that he would be traded--they said that the organization no longer considers T-Mac to be untouchable. This isn't a trade rumor, per se.
a rumor has to be started from some kind of source. those guys on ESPN yesterday stated their OPINIONS (b/c of his injuries). there is no rumor.
nobody on this team is untouchable with the amount of injuries they suffer. but that doesn't mean it's very easy to trade them, say like the iverson trade. you need to give this team back at least a player of tracy's caliber when he's in playoff mode for morey to even consider it. and i can only name 3-4 players who can do that. so technically, he's untouchable in that sense.
This is what Feigen said on his blog: Unless we're handed a ridiculous offer, T-Mac is going nowhere.
You don't need a source for an opinion. Most people are perfectly capable of formulating those completely on their own. Go back and read the original post. The story was that a league source reports that the Rockets no longer consider T-Mac to be untouchable. Is that credible? If this latest injury fiasco didn't move T-Mac out of the untouchable category then the Rockets are brain dead. Does that mean he'll be moved? Not necessarily. Obviously a lot has to happen before that occurs.
If a player doesn't win a series then quit the arguement about T-macs playoff stats. Its gotten very old. Also I believe KG has been to the conference finals before and he gives maximum effort on every possession of every single game.
he got to the conf. finals after 7 tries. this will be tmac's 8th try. we'll see if he can do the same.
so an opinion is just that. i asked for a source regarding the rumor. and tracy was never untouchable. injuries make him that. if teams give us wade, he'll be traded. but there are only 3-4 possible trades that can make that happen and trust me, those are harder than winning 2 lotteries in the same week. but the point is: the rockets are not open to trading tracy and never was. are "other" teams interested? sure. but the rockets are not. morey said this. feign's response by the above poster confirmed this.
You're contradicting yourself again. If "tracy was never untouchable" then "the rockets are not open to trading tracy and never was" is a contradiction. Again, I don't know if the rumor is bogus or not. But is it believable? Given the injury fiasco I'd have to say yes.
idealistically, tracy was never untouchable yes. the rockets will trade him (like any sane team would) if you can get kobe, lebron, or wade (b/c that's what it would take to trade tracy). but those are extremely far-fetched scenarios so "REALISTICALLY" he's untouchable. so it is a contradiction in that sense. the rumors started flying again after sam smith wrote that article. so believe what you want. a sane person wouldn't.
Another dumb 'trade tracy' thread. Fact of the matter is, unless we got some great trade on the table (which we wont), we arnt going to trade him. And why would we? Our team hasnt looked this good in a decade, so why not see where it leads? If we lose in the first round again, or dont make it to the playoffs for that matter, then yeah, trade him. You dont make a move to get a player like Ron, then go and trade one of your key players for nothing.
These aren't trade rumors. All this is is a rumor that the Rockets are open to the idea of trading McGrady when previously they weren't. Frankly I would have guessed that was the case after the latest injury fiasco regardless of whether or not there was a rumor so I find this credible.
Every team is 'open' to trade any of their players. It just depends who they get in return for the trade. Most of the time, you wont get any deals worth the paper they are printed on.
I believe that argument is used when people blame Tracy for not doing his part, or not doing enough. T-Mac shows up to play in the playoffs, if his team would do the same, we could go somewhere. But it hasn't happened, except one series that we really blew (Dallas). KG took plenty of tries to get the conference finals as well, if you want to nitpick. It takes a good team. Did KG do his part? Yes, of course. Did he do it alone? Absolutely not.
Agree for the most part with you Shady, but McGrady and KG are two completely different individuals from a psychological standpoint. I love T-Mac and love it when he plays like he played last night, but I don't expect him to do that everynight. The only thing I expect from him as a die hard rocket fan is maximum effort (the way KG plays every night). KG, Kobe, MJ, Ginobli and Duncan all give and in MJs case gave maximum effort every night and none will give any team any quarter. Those guys are killers. It just so happens that all the above mentioned guy now have rings and some cases many. By the way, didn't that closeout lineup last night of Yao, T-Mac, Battier and Artest bring chills down your spine. Just awesome. If those guys can all make it to the post season healthy I like their chances against the Lakers, Spurs, Celtics and Lucifer the Devil. That lineup is a coaches wet dream. Wow.
