Gary Brown? He was a beast in the second half of the '93 season when Lorenzo White got hurt. Yep, good times.
I think the Oilers choke vs Buffalo would have scarred me for life had it not been for the Rockets championships a couple years later. Screw you, Oilers.
Only saw action in 11 games, one of which he only returned kicks and another where he had only 4 carries (for 50 yards!). So, in 9 games (only 8 of which he started) he rushed for 1002 yards and 5.1 ypc. His production was Earlesque.
I'll never forget when Ladd Herzeg, our GM at the time, got tanked and decided to moon a wedding party. Those were the days.
I just remember a long history of losing. Have some blurry memories of the Earl Campbell, Bum Phillips, and "Luv ya Blue" days. Also have some good and bad memories of Warren Moon, Givens, Childress, etc. . But, strangely, most of those memories are locked away in the corners of my mind and I cannot find the key to get them unlocked. I don't think I want to. I used to love the Oilers no matter what but "the move" left me feeling betrayed. And, around that time, I moved to North Texas and the disgust with the Oilers caused be to shift my football team to the Cowboys. It was actually quite easy to do at the time...because Houston didn't have a football team...and Dallas was flying high with Smith, Aikman, Irvin, etc. going to the Super Bowl ('95). When the Texans finally came along, I felt no connection whatsoever to this team even though I was born and raised in Houston. I had already moved from Houston for school and work by this time. Still, deep down...I do secretly root for the Texans to be winners...because I lived with the "no championships" in any sports thing in Houston for 18 years living in Houston. The Rockets finally busted that up when I was in college outside of Houston...which was nice. So, I still identify with the Astros and Rockets cause those are my teams I grew up on. And, that's my story. Oilers pissed me off a lot of times...are my main memories. I remember me and Updawg being so pissed during the Buffalo game and having to drive from Austin to Nacogdoches on a Sunday just fuming the whole time.
I always laugh when I see Lamar Lathon run PAST Al Smith while trying to block for him... I will NEVER forget that game. Bubba McDowell before Bo Orlando and before Blaine Bishop and before Chuck Cecil. This is my newest WORST memory: WTF.
