A very big thank you Sparks. I was confused on this part esp on whether Lakers owns the tie breaker or not.
The Spurs sure look like the much more favorable matchup compared to the Nuggets but lets compare shall we? We won one game against them during the season via a James Harden game winner. The players.. Doesn't matter how old Duncan is. Look at his averages for this season. He's still arguably the best big man in the Western conference this year. Parker looked rusty against LA last night but you and i know that he will be his old self come playoffs. Yes, Manu is hurt and could be rusty if he indeed suits up for the post season but the Spurs have Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green, and Gary Neal who have been good against us. The only thing that could hurt the Spurs is not having Boris Diaw and losing Stephen Jackson. Now lets look at the Nuggets situation.. Yes, we are 0-4 against them this season but some of those losses came from us having to play them in Denver off back to backs and missing a key player in Chandler Parsons. The players.. They lost their top scorer in Danilo Gallinari. Kenneth Faried suffered an ankle injury last night and could possibly be out for the 1st round. Still waiting for confirmation. Ty Lawson, who is their 2nd leading scorer, is also hurt and could be rusty at the start of the post season similar to Tony Parker's situation. The Conclusion.. Okay, if the Manimal is out for Denver then who starts for them at power forward? Anthony Randolph? Would you rather go up against a Duncan/Splitter/Bonner/Blair frontline than a Koufus/McGee/Randolph/Mozgov? Do you think a rusty Ty Lawson is better than a rusty Tony Parker? Yes, everyone is worried of Andre Igoudala but the Spurs also have Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green to defend Harden. George Karl is a great coach i agree. But who coaches the Spurs? Yep, he's even better alright. Now ask yourselves, is it really worth stressing yourselves wanting to play one over the other. Lets be realistic here, odds are, we are not beating either of these two teams 4 times out of 7 especially when they own homecourt advantage. Sure, anything can happen but if you ask me, i could care less if we face Denver or San Antonio. Win our last 2 games and i say NO to trying to manage the outcome of our games to try and finish at a much preferred seeding. We're already very fortunate to already be in the playoffs on year 1 of our rebuilding phase. That's the main goal. We have immensely over-achieved and its something to be damn proud of. Stressing ourselves over which team to play is just being too nit-picky, IMO. Just enjoy the ride from here on out because this season has already been a huge success for the team and us fans.
Their bigs are not better. Asik is the best center on either team. Greg smith and Jones will also hold their own.
Unless the rule changed, basketball doesn't re-seed after each round like football or hockey....so we will never have home court
could care less: definitions- Lacking interest; having apathy towards. Apathy: a state of indifference, or the suppression of emotions such as concern, excitement, motivation and passion. Point is, it doesn't matter if its Denver or San Antonio. The important thing is to keep winning and stay in that mindset going into the post-season.
The craziness is that the Lakers still has a chance for the 6th seed cause it also owns the tiebreaker with GS if Lakers wins their last two games and both Rox and GSW lose their remaining games and all are tied in the standings
But if you choose to be a grammar police/smart a** in an online public forum rather than staying on topic and actually contributing then it's "I couldn't care less".
Sure they've won big games against the Grizzlies and Spurs(sans Kobe) but do you really wanna see crazy? Warning: This will be graphic for Jazz fans. If you're a Jazz fan, look away. For Rockets fans: This will give you an idea on what you could expect from playing the Lakers on must win games.

Has anyone compared FTAs and Fouls for both Lakers & Jazz & their opponents over last 10 games? They don't re-seed but I believe the higher seed has home court. If we are 6th seed and GSW are 7th seed, we would have home court advantage.
So just how big is a non-call or a blown call here and there during games? Watch our games against the Grizzlies a couple of days ago.

I am looking forward to seeing them play whoever. We will be the underdog so I am hoping we pull a Denver over Seattle upset or a Golden state over Dallas upset. Lets Go Rockets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The scariest thing is that I believe the majority of the best ways to impact the game as a ref can be done without even affecting the free throw disparity #s.
