Who needs Webber? I 'd rather have Francis back than a desperate player like Webber. He reminds me of Karl Malone when he definitly wanted a ring with the Lakers! Webber thinks he can win a ring, but he never will ...

Hooray! Keep him out of here.

My goodness, why do so many people not get that we're riding a hot hand right now? We've got Snyder, (Bonzi), and Yao who will return for us over the next month. Why risk it by throwing in a guy that won't stomach being any less than a prominent #2 and has fallen off the cliff in terms of defense?

The only team he might look good on is the Lakers, in that he's the exact type of player you want in the high post of the triangle.

Again though, his attitude and recent demonstrations of an unwillingness to be a role player send brilliant red flags up and down.

You know what strikes me as funny?

The Dallas Mavericks...the best team in the league are interested in picking him up.........and some people here are saying no.

    Wow....just wow..

The reason that these teams are on top is that they are not afraid to add a player to their mix if it makes their team better....

Adding a Chris Webber or Steve Francis and losing a Bob Sura contract is a no brainer.

You just do it, that way when someone is injured, or we need that extra push, we have players who are capable of delivering.

Now, I am a big fan of Novak, V-Span, & JL3....but Webber is a proven veteran...and not just a decent player...but an outstanding one.....

He is at the end of his career, and what he does well fits in PERFECTLY with the Rockets.

If you get a chance....you take it.....it is a low risk gamble.

YOU ALWAYS add a quality player if you can, especially when you can get them for free.

    My Gosh people !!

And you base that comment on what? Juwan is Sperior in every category except passing. juwan is a better shooter, rebounder and defensive player. not to mention is a truly great teammate who inspiers others around him. Webber is a sulking cancer. all he does is pout.

the only thing webber can contribute to any team right now is passing and experience (bad experience, though, because he's always been a loser).

some guys seem to have not seen webber play in the last 3 years.

    i'd rather have melvin ely.

I base it on their careers and what each one has accomplished......I would rather have the option of Webber.....

If he doesn't work out, cut him...no big deal.....but with the history of the Rockets and their injuries, they really need to add as many good players as they can.

Webber is a good player....not a superstar anymore, but still a good player, and VERY capable of being our 3rd scoring option.

Juwan has had a great run, with Yao out, but he doesn't space the floor very well which is why Hayes was starting with Yao.....Webber does...

    But, what do I know?

Only ALL of the other teams the Rockets are fighting for playoff position are seemingly interested......hey, maybe we should take him just so THEY don't get him...huh?

So you wanna get Webber on past accomplishments?.. lets go and get shawn kemp then?... dude has probaly still got more game then webber comon dude, have you seen Webber play nowdays?. he can't even get up the floor anymore. he's midrange game has vanished. even he's once feared post game is horrendus. he used to be like an gazzale, now he is nothing more then oversized cancer. even passing game is even going down faster then a bigmac in bonzi's hands. he's attitude and pouting are not worth the risk. we've slowly built a great team that is built on great team chemistry.

BTW, Bonzi is a way better 3rd option nowdays. once bonzi gets back, he'll be our 3rd scoring option in the playoffs.

First of all let 's hope the history, injuries and other "negative stuff" are over, when Yao returns! The Rox will make new history ... a ring (this season or the next)!

I agree when you say Webber is "still" a good player and maby the Rox should take a risk, but if I 'm not wrong Webber is "always been" very sensitive for injuries! So, ... I say NO!

The Problem here is, Webber wont accept the role of being a role player. he Still has these delusional flashbacks of him being still a league league MVP candidate. in philly he was getting like 20 shots and he still was complaing about not getting enough looks. i'm all for adding talent , but, we gotta take every factor into consideration. will he rock the boat, or will he help us in the long run. you gotta be sure positives will out-wheigh the negatives. i just feel at this point he's game is not good enough to offset hes history of being an cancer an anti-chemistry guy.

I don't like Webber and he isn't a winner. He has an inflated sense of his value.

He has a little left in the tank, but we don't need it considering that his talent also comes with his attitude. Our team as is, is playing really well right now.

This team with these players have earned the chance to take it as far as they can.

Not crazy about options 2 and 3 but I would be in favor of dumping that TE for Diener and buying out Sura

    Roster

    C -Yao/Deke
    PF-Hayes/Howard/Padgett
    SF-Battier/Wells/Novak
    SG-T-Mac/Head/Snyder/Billy
    PG-Rafer/Diener/JL3

    = championship
