The only way we can play him is to cut Juwan's minutes. They are similar players. Webber might have better skill than Juwan but I doubt he will accept the role player fact.
I mean he is slow. He is not fit for Yao. He has to play with Deke.

You guys are vastly underestimating Webber's talents. It's not like he's going to cost us $20million per year. He probably wants to sign for cheap with a title contender, in which case we would fit the bill. No matter what he's a decent PF who can spread the floor and is probably still the best passing PF in the league. He will fit in the lineup and play FC. Not a perfect fit, but still very usable.

Webber used to be a top 10 player in the league easily. Too bad his knees are shot. But he is still a very good offensive player plus passer. But he is a liability on D. I'd like the Rox to check him out. He can play some center. I want Deke to play less minutes so he can stay fresh when the playoff comes.

But the thing I am worried about is the team chemistry. Maybe Juwan can give some input since they used to be good friends.

You think Steve Novak can't play defense? In his limited playing time this season, Webber has already been on the wrong end of several ESPN highlights. And it didn't look like he had much lift at all...

    Pass.

The only team out of the mentioned that I could realistically see him playing for and actually getting minutes or having any form of a significant role is with the Lakers.

It makes you wonder why he wouldn't be interested in Houston since he could probably have the same. Perhaps the Rockets are the ones that are really uninterested?

C-webb, no, we do not need him. Steve Francis, hell yes, please make it happen.

I guess if we're not on his wishlist, a NBA championship isn't, either.

    Right?

    Let's see...

    Webber shooting FG% 38% FT% 64%

    Howard shooting FG% 46% FT% 89%

    No thanks...not an upgrade anymore.

Yeah, at this point Howard is the best fab five player right now. Webber could be but he's got some delusions about whether he's still a star. Juwan's at least smart enough to know his place.

Webber is still the better power forward but he's refused to acknowledge that he's not the player he once was.

I would rather have Juwan. I would take Webber if he could accept like 15 minutes a night and being a passer and filling an important role and all that... but that's not Webber's style.

What about Steve Franchise? What are the odds of him coming back here if his contract is bought out. I'd love to have him on this championship caliber team, he could be a hell of a roleplayer on our team. We could use a good player like Francis to back up Rafer.

Man...If Francis were to anchor the 2nd team with Bonzi, we would have 2 scorers with TMAC and Yao both off the floor...interesting. ;)

As for Webber, I agree if he had Howard's attitude and work ethic we could use him, but I just don't see it.

His knees are shot and he still thinks he is an all star.

We already have a PF who gets WIDE open looks here... his name is Juwan Howard, and he does a damn good job of knocking down those J's.

would rather have penny than webber... I like Webber, but when I saw Chris Bosh shoot that three right in Webber's face for the win, who could get about a quarter of an inch off the ground to contest that shot, I knew his career was almost over :)

In place of those dots should be : Great night life (Bars, Strip Clubs), A huge selection of great restaurants and of coures, Moody Gardens, Kemah Boardwalk and such places.

But, in light of the possiblity of going to LA..

Houston cons : Traffic, Summer humidity/heat, traffic, mosquitos, more humidity more heat, ugly city skyline ( oh c'mon you know it is), and from what I've heard a good century's worth of very active hurricane seasons.

Hmm... yep.. he's going to Cali. :D

The Spurs will never ever give the Rockets their 'ol Big Shot Bob back. Not for the TE, and probably not for anything we have right now outside of Tracy and Yao. They know how big his shots have been in championship runs, and they don't want to be on the receiving end of one.

Cwebb knows this is his chance for a free ring. So his wish list doesn't surprise anyone.

We could use his passing skills and the depth he would provide but his defense isn't so hot and he would clash with JVG, big time.

He'll sign with Detroit or Miami. Because there is also the question of getting out of the first round. In the West, there's less of a chance of that.

He's dumb for saying he wants to go to heat, i doubt heat will have a chance this season as they are so far behind schedule and no way they can turn up the heat in playoffs when shaq is not healthy, posey, walker are over weight.

I guess the real question on Cwebb is how much and how his minimal game impact or help us?

Do you think howard, hayes or even shane at the 4 in playoffs time is enough for us?

Personally, I think if cwebb is cheap we can use him for a one or two years of rental. afterall, he does have playoff experience that Hayes lack.

No Miami has the Full MLE- so if it is money, they will lead this race. I really wish we can add Chris Webber, Atleast here he will get minutes- SA and Dallas are just playing mind games- especially Dallas.
