Women are the same as men, the rim needs to stay at 10ft or raised to 11ft so people can tune in and watch a more demanding basketball league with women having the superior difficulty. There is no room for toxic masculinity in this day and age and women don't need your help lowering their basketball rims....
Somehow, I don't think "Hey, casuals and non-WNBA fans! We lowered the rims so that our players will have an easier time!" will spark any interest.
Don't get me wrong - the time and effort WNBA players put into their craft should absolutely be praised. But in those 2 'lowlight' videos, the skill and technique leave much to be desired.
Now show us the lowlight of Sam Dekkar dribbling with his face or a Chuck Hayes free throw and tell us that's an indication of the lack of skill and technique in the NBA.
WOMEN ARE NOT PHSTICALLY THE SAME HEIGHT AS MEN. The average height of a woman in the WNBA is a lot shorter than a man in the NBA. My post has absolutely nothing to with toxic masculinity you boob.
It will when they see the result. Also Im gonna guess that you're no marketing expert because im pretty sure that would be the worst campaign i have ever seen.
Entertainment is to the EYE of the beholder, similar to beauty! I'm a male who never went to or watched a women's basketball game until Houston got the Comets, after we got the Comets I was hooked. I loved them, as much as the Rockets. I always hoped the Astros would win but I could never set and watch a baseball game, so the Comets would ENTERTAIN me until the start of Football and Basketball season. Women's basketball is more skilled is a different brand of basketball, you have to be an aficionado to appreciate it.
What? Are trans women not physically the same as males? They are the same! Diversity is the leagues strength and you want to lower the rims to help poor ol little women play a mans sport.... Bruh, get with the times....
I met Swoopes at a Chicago Sky game in Chicago in 2016. She was shocked tht the Comets is where we knew her from. She's a really cool person and my favorite all time Female basketball player.
Were they praised for their respective offensive games? Obviously not. Also, no one wanted to see Chuck Hayes be anything on offense. And Dekker hasn't stepped on an NBA court in 2 years. Not sure why the Raptors wanted to bring him back. Congrats for cherry picking 2 bad moments - one from a player not known for his offense and one from a player who is a complete scrub. You can keep talking about those two moments and I can post more WNBA lowlight vids that probably won't even recycle old lowlight clips. Point is, you can lower the rim for middle school kids in their games as well. Doesn't mean people will suddenly want to watch those games just because the training wheels are back on the bike.
Exactly...Even if people wanted Houston back as a city I think this bitterness is too much. How can you even support a league that kills off its most prolific team? I never took the league seriously after that and I doubt anyone else did either. Like the AFL and other upstart leagues, they would never allow Houston to form a team like that again and just give away their assets to LA and NY for the "good of the league." I was never a fan but this group MADE me one. Everyone loved them. It always felt like they were stolen and to me the league died right there.
Agreed I was actually at the 1st Championship game. Which they REALLY did not think we belonged there (The Comets were suppose to suck because Sheryl Swoopes was pregnant) But they beat the odds. . and beat the **** out of the Liberty unless I am mistaken Rocket River
