Not surprised; I had a small package stolen right off the front doorstep (which isn't in full view of the street) while I was home a few weeks ago.
Never had my house broken into. But this happened to me. I ordered some shoes from footlocker and the UPS guy just left it by the front door. It was gone by the time I got home. Too many opportunistic scums, like vultures and maggots, in Houston.
Other than the suburbs houston is pretty ghetto. Even in the nice parts inside the loop, you are only few miles from the not so nice parts.
Comments on Yahoo are pointing fingers at the New Orlean's refugees. Personally, I'm surprised Detroit is not in that list.
This is a good time to invest in a postal mail box??? It's like 50 bucks a month but you get all your packages shipped to the postal office and you pick it up without worrying about scums stealing your ****... I might have to do that if I keep hearing about people's mail being stolen right off the lot.
Most of these cities listed have a high population so it's expected to be on the list. I've gotten my house robbed once, not a fun experience walking into a home completely ransacked.
I believe it. 2 of my boys were robbed at gun point just last month. One of them was by a chick who jumped into his car at a gas station (i10 and Blalock) and pulled out a gun. He was forced to drive to third ward where he was met by some gang members. They roughed him up but he was able to find his car a couple of blocks down. He's thankful for his life.
