I absolutely disagree. Yao's playing time has been determined by his play on the court, and after 3 games he's just starting to look a little comfortable with this team. His play thus far hasn't resembled his 2 games with the Chinese team against the US teams before and at the WBCs, and it's totally understandable. Yao playing in the Asian Games and not being in camp guarranteed minimal playing time for him on any NBA team. I'd like to see Yao get more touches too, but he hasn't been getting good positioning in the low post and that's what the coaches are waiting for. If Yao Ming fans want to blame the Rockets fine, but it seems a more logical target for blame would be the CBA for this slow start.

can you freaking learn how to swim if you don't dive in the pool???

    NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how can this kid ever improve if he doesn't get his minutes and touches? Houston guards simply IGNORING him like a 7.6 inches dwarf.
stevie would rather dribble and turn it over than pass to a wide-open Ming.. what the heck is going on?

    YES!!
I think what he should practise on should be offensive rebounds and steals. ==> kinda nice for a 7'6 center eh?

cuz his teammates won't pass u da freaking ball.

and I think he should just forget about passing, cuz he won't get the ball back.

What's wrong with you 'Next Big Thing'. It is 3 games into the season!

Here is a summary of Yao's minutes:

    1st game = 11 min
    2nd game = 13 min
    3rd game = 24 min

Do you see a trend developing!?

As for not passing to him enough - that will develop as well - he has only been with the team for 3 freakin weeks. Besides, Francis and Mobley shouldn't of passed to him more then they did last night - they were on fire!

Throwing him in to 'learn' to swim just for the sake of it (maybe at the expense of a loss instead of a win) doesn't make sense. Let him get more practice, learn the system, get comfortable with his teamates, and you will see by mid season he will be averaging 30 minutes a game and be a force.

Or would you rather not put our strongest lineup on the court, lose these early games, and make a playoff run even harder?

I'm going to make a new acronym for the board, something to add to M.A.S.H. and F.A.R.T.....

    Y.A.O.

    Yao Ming Always and Only.

These are posters who are Yao Ming fans first, Rocket fans second. Someone who believes that Yao should be starting, playing 40+ a game, and getting the ball in the low posts every single possession. Anything less is destroying Yao's ability to play ball, and destroying their ability to watch Yao play ball.

If you get the Y.A.O. post in your thread, you qualify.

Brilliant post. :) I agree 100%. Yao's will continue to get more minutes gradually.

If Houston isn't the city for Yao then why does he seem to love it. He is getting along great with the players. Tell Yao that he doesn't belong in Houston and he will laugh at you. He seems really happy here.

You can really tell that he is miserable here.
