Not cheap than Adelman? then money is not the issue.

I'd imagine that Morey started with two years with a team option, McHale countered with a four-year deal, and the parties eventually compromised on a three-year deal with a team option on Year 4.

Contract negotiations. They're a hell of a thing.

@Therealkevinmchale: Anyone know where I can pick up some solid wood furniture that really will save me money? Gotta pimp my crib.

This guy is hilarious. Honestly, the only reason I approve of this hire is because of his numerous recommendations for everyone to watch the show Leverage.

So does this mean that Daryl will pick the staff instead of McHale?

Feigen was referring to the LENGTH of the contract, not the salary.

    McHale is Navy, not Army.

Not sure on the money part but is getting the same contract length as Adelman did. If you are to believe previous reports*, then yes, McHale will be getting paid less than Adelman.

*Note: Those same previous reports said a deal was only likely for 2 years w/ McHale.

If it is the three-year deal with a team option on Year 4, then it is not bad for Les. He can fire him after two years if he is not going to do his jobs without costing too much.

"The chances of me doing this long term are slim to none," McHale said in an interview with Sports Illustrated in 2005. "I just don‚t think I'm cut out to be a career coach."

I never would have thought McHale would be the coach when he got his first interview. I thought for sure if he was coming here, it would be to groom Finch. Clearly that's going to happen anyway, but they're committing longer to McHale than I thought.

Talking now with someone with the team -- says they were blown away by his interview with him. They say also the staff around him is going to be outstanding. We'll see.

I would not be surprised. Finch, DM's mandated choice, is rumored to be a lock as assistant.

Not sure if you can say or know, but any ideas or names on any possible assistants or who they might be looking at or want(obviously besides Finch)? Thanks
