Haha I like K-Mart, he is so freaking sarcastic. “Rest peacefully at night” about Kevin McHale being new coach LOL. Don’t worry Martin, the rainbow will come after the storm...when we hear how high our draft pick is on lottery night!

Anyway, I guess we can claim that we have a better coach than the Lakers.

 

He was the guy who said they were all very anxious before the trade deadline. So he can legitimately say now that he can finally rest peacefully.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure Martin will be traded too. He was unhappy about being asset and now he’s unhappy about downgrading coach. I think he will ask for trade, and Morey will probably agree since it will help Rockets tank.

 

I don't want this guy on the team anymore if he's complaining about the coach with sarcastic comments like above imo.

That only means when the going gets tough in the season he's going to bail out and whine about the coach and decrease all value he did have. I'm starting to hope Rockets trade him on draft day.

 

If he does that, McHale is the man.

 

Guys, I think you're reading WAYYY too much into those tweets. I'm sure Kevin Martin was just trying to convey that he's glad they have finally picked a new head coach and can stop being in (such) a state of flux.

No need to run rampant with otherwise innocuous comments.

I think Martin has the right to feel the way he does. He was on a terrible team for years and now then he finally escapes to what he thinks will be contending team. Then it looks like he is in for more terrible times with this move to downgrade coach. I really don’t blame him, but I hope he is traded too. I would like the Rockets to suck big time instead of just be a little worse with worse coach. Twelfth draft pick is not much more exciting than fourteenth.

Madsen's not the end-all-be-all source, but it's another voice, from a player with ample comparisons, that McHale is an excellent communicator and motivator.

Add this to the well-known regard Kevin Love and Al Jefferson have for the guy and DM's admission that McHale's interview blew him away and I think you have a pretty clear picture that this man is head and shoulders above many of his peers at motivating and communicating with players. Obviously he also has weaknesses which most speculate are his X's and O's, player evaluation and use of analytics. With him in the baseball manager role as motivator, communicator and delegator along with big man coach we have a coach who if used correctly could be very good.
