JImmy singlehandedly makes our defense better than last year.

Tucker/Butler would be a historically great defensive duo.

We would give the Worriers all they could handle.

I absolutely 100% agree, I pretty much wrote an essay in the “this season’s over thread” :)D:D:D) arguing these same points.

We gave the Warriors fits defensively with Tucker and Ariza, and JB provides not only that same level of defensive IQ and prowess that Ariza did but an All Star caliber offensive arsenal as well.

Luc was a non-factor that series, so we pretty much played them with 2 above average wing defenders in both ability and IQ, and locked them down like no other team. We won 3 games against them running a rotation of CP3, Harden, Ariza, Tucker, Capela, Gordon, and Green. Replace Ariza with JB and I have no doubt we win 4.

Of course, we still need to make the playoffs first and our lack of depth in the frontcourt is going to be troublesome throughout the season going up against teams like the Pelicans with tremendous size and talent in their front-court.

Let’s weather the storm for now with our injuries, make that trade for JB (take EGO and those 4 picks Minny, you’re not going to get anything better), and maybe Brandon Knight (a solid 3 point shooter) can come back and ensure MCW never sees the court again for meaningful minutes. Ennis will be good for spot minutes off the bench as an energy/hustle guy, but never again as a starter.

Overall depth is still a bit concerning, however, but let’s hope Morey can work some magic.

Keep your heads up all my Clutchfans brethren! This season will NOT be a repeat of 15/16- that Charlie Foxtrot of a team was truly broken. No locker room cancer Dwight, no washed up Ty Lawson who we thought was going to be our savior at the PG spot (LOL), and most importantly, no McFail and JB Bickerstaff. Jesus himself couldn’t have saved that team.

I trust in CP3 and Harden to carry us and I trust in Morey to get us Jimmy Butler. Butler’s DAWG personality fits right in with CP3 and Tucker, which can only serve as a catalyst in speeding up our team chemistry.

I don’t care what seed we get in the playoffs- with Butler and our veterans, I firmly believe we can kick anybody’s a$$ on their home floor on any given night.

    Let’s kill it!

You give me Harden, Paul, Butler, Tucker, Capela, Ennis and health.... and they can beat GS. Butler is a vastly superior player and defensively is a top 2-3 wing. He makes a massive difference.

I’m just telling you my opinion. They’ll outshoot us. We won’t have enough shooting imo.

If Gordon is the only rotation player leaving in a trade for Butler, the Rockets are replacing ...

    Ariza with Butler
    Luc with Ennis
Gordon bench offense with Melo bench offense

Rotation pattern would obviously be different since Melo is a front court player as opposed to Gordon. However, Butler can slide to the backcourt unlike Ariza. Ennis would be coming in for CP3 to play the three. Butler to the two, and Harden to the one. Melo comes in for Tuck.

    Mandatory!

Games 10 to 15 will tell us a tremendous amount about these trade negotiations!

    (2 days old)
    http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/25094626/nba-timberwolves-suffer-worst-loss-thibodeau

Owner Glen Taylor has assured Butler that the team is continuing to seek out a trade for him, and there has been a belief that the organization would seriously revisit trade talks 10 to 15 games into the season, league sources said.

Houston has offered four future first-round picks to Minnesota, but that package doesn't include guard Eric Gordon, who'd be mandatory for Minnesota in any proposed deal, league sources said. Thibodeau wants a maximum return on players able to help Minnesota get back to the playoffs.

Taylor has tasked general manager Scott Layden with the focus of finding a trade, as Thibodeau concentrates on coaching the team. Miami and Philadelphia remain teams interested in potential deals for Butler, and Taylor has hoped that those teams would become more aggressive in their offers to pry Butler, league sources said.

Melo isn’t close to the player Gordon is anymore. Gordon can defend and can shoot significantly better

I'm I the only one who wants Dieng back too?
I mean he'll be about the same price as Knight for a year longer but he should be what we need in a backup big. And if he plays well (or let's be honest even if he doesnt) I'm sure Morey could find a new home for him before paying Butler, if that's an issue for Tillman.

I thought this too. Then someone mentioned that it must have something to do with Knight and/or Chriss.
I'm pretty sure thy can be moved separately from what I understand.
So I guess Gordon/Chriss/picks (hopefully NOT your if we ARE including Gordon) for Butler?

i think taylors like the offer and will override thibs... its just that they are waiting for 31th to sign it.... meanwhile they are throwing a prayer someone will beat this offer or for morey to give them gordon as well ... they are bluffing
