There’s 8-10 players better than Butler in the league, 2 of them are already on our team and 2 of them are on GS

Which one of these needle movers would you suggest we go after?

 

We had half as many all stars as they did last year, and we still all most beat them cause of our defense and depth. If he got some more players like that, ....maybe...JUST maybe we could get back to form, but I am being optimistic. I dont believe Butler by himself, while trading Gordon and 4 picks will do it. If they want Gordon, fine, Gordon and picks...nah.

It sucks for Gordon but we can’t pass on Butler. I feel like this deal is getting closer to happening.

This team has so many problems. Jimmy Butler isn't going to make a difference.

 

That team is considerably better than the team we had last year and gives us the best possible chance to beat the Warriors. You're a great poster and I respect your takes so I'm curious to know what you'd do instead or why you believe that team wouldn't be competitive with the Warriors though last year's Rockets obviously were.

 

You just don't want to end up with Knight on the books, luxury tax problems and no picks to dump that contract. If you're locking yourself into luxury tax and no draft picks, every contract on the roster better be good.

 

I really think people are overreacting. We have an incomplete roster and have had a very rough start. I disagree that last year's team minus Ariza/Luc/Bzdelik (the one we really miss the most) plus Melo, Ennis, AND Butler is a lost cause. Our roster as it stands isn't even a lost cause.

The season is only 6 games old and we've had injuries and suspensions to deal with and a lot of new guys learning to play together.

The sky isn't falling. I don't like to use this term lightly because I suffer from it in a literal way but our fans have bipolar disorder. We have a win streak and everyone's a genius and we're a dynasty. We have a losing streak and folks want to fire everybody.

It's a long season. Lots of games left to play. If you're giving up on the Rockets 6 games in, forgive me if I doubt your dedication to the Rockets.

This team can't is getting blown out by every team. What makes you think they have a shot against the warriors.

 

I think we really underestimated losing bzdelik. I knew they wouldn't be a top 5 defense this year, but I didn't think they would be this bad. We also need a new head coach that stresses defense. It's clear dantoni just does not put an emphasis on defense.

I just think it's hard to play with that same focus and dedication when they were so close to winning it all last year.
