Say this season the Rockets take the usual amount of time to work through chemistry issues, they make the playoffs, but not the second round. Howard is disappointed but encourages himself that this is a process and will take time. That summer two other NBA teams make some trades, clear up cap space, then come out of the woodwork and on record state they are interested in Dwight Howard: if only he wasn't under contract with Houston. The two teams are New Jersey, and OKC. Dwight's loyalties are not to Houston, they are to himself, and winning. All of a sudden Dwight realizes that Kevin Durant is better than James Harden, and Russell Westbrook is better than Jeremy Lin, and so WTH is he doing in Houston, of all places? Dwight demands a trade.
Are you saying he doesn't already know this? Your last 2 posts in this thread were both quite a stretch. Dwight can demand a trade all he wants, he is here until he can exercise his ETO. They put a massive trade kicker in the contract to make sure of it. Don't know why you are so pessimistic about Howard, especially on the premise of "Harden taking away shots". I just don't see this being an issue. He chose Houston, he is only going to hurt himself if he pouts early into this brand new deal. Teams are going to be less and less interested in dealing with Howard's crap as he gets older and less effective. It's in Howard's best interest to honor the contract he agreed to and not b**** about it even if he does find himself wanting out.
I thought that's why we got Camby? Regardless of where he goes I hope he be relatively healthy for a few seasons. It's hard to feel sorry for a guy making millions sitting around playing XBox, but I still think he was the best choice for Portland at the time. Oden, Aldridge, Roy vs T-Mac and Yao.
