    1. The law does provide some pretty stiff penalties for shooting law enforcement officers...there are a thousand policy reasons why that is true..and why it needs to be true.

    2. Your take that it's not "atrocious" to shoot three people and kill one of them is absolutely unbelievable to me.

    3. I have not convicted them...I don't get to convict them...I'm not on a jury. My opinion is nothing more than my opinion. I don't know for sure that the guys that are in custody are the very ones who did the act....but it seems that someone did...and whoever did should face the consequences.

    4. I'm not personally calling for blood...i'm still too undecided on the death penalty to be a supporter of it

    5. Where in the world are you getting the prison brutality stuff?? How is that even relevant, in this instance. There are no such allegations against this particular officer. Lump them all in if you want to....but order still has to be maintained and the law still has to be enforced. You can disband all police departments in the country if you like....personally, I'm glad they're there, even in their imperfect state.

TroyBarros -- please spare me the "it's all your fault somebody else slammed airplanes into office towers killing roughly 3,000 people." that take is not only offensive...it's old and tired.

That's one of my arugments for hate crimes. People tend to get stiffer penalties for shooting cops or killing kids, so the argument that a murder is a murder isn't valid.

Max, I think he's referring to those who've basically said this guy will get his in prison because convicts don't take kindly to those who hurt children, not brutality by the police officers.

Actually, on TV they said that shots were fired while the person was still on the phone with the police dispatcher before any police even got there.

Troy - quick fix for your problems:

You don't like the way things are with cops or the US, get the hell out, move. Go buy season tickets to some soccer games in latin america where the cops are dirtier than the water and see how fairly you get treated. Your WTC thoughts are the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

Juan - you run for congress then if we are all so bad. I probably wouldn't vote for you to represent me either. These are just opinions on a BBS. I rant out of anger, I am not going to lynch someone.

the boso's in the house shot the people before the cops arrived. I think shooting two defenseless women and a baby is pretty atrocious. The surviving woman and the baby were lucky to be alive, I wonder why they lived? Oh, yeah it was because the cops broke down the door and stormed the house and one of them died - TROY!
