Hmm, so Butler is the first team coming to Houston. Is anyone excited about having Butler as one of the Final Four teams? I say blah....
Gotta have a cinderella Florida took some positively stupid shots there at the end. Use your brains gators.
I cannot believe Butler did it again. They are coming to Houston! I'm so proud of those guys. Kinda makes me want to go back to the old neighborhood and celebrate with them. Icehouse, excited does not begin to describe how I feel right now.
Oh you went to Butler? Do you think a lot of their fans will come this way for the game? I want as many folks here as possible to make the Final Four a hit.
He's a very analytical guy. Reminds me of Morey. Long term, I think he will end up a top-level assistant coach in the NBA and maybe a GM. He has a specific skill (analysis) that is very valuable.
I didn't go there. I grew up in the neighborhood. My grade school is directly across the street. Used to go sledding there every winter, play on their outside tennis courts, even visited the "C" Club where students hang out. I'm a Purdue grad, but I think Butler going to the Final Four means more to me. It's a very small school and the idea of them making it this far again just blows my mind completely.
That's no cinderella. Butler's the regular ass b**** cleaning the floor with the apron and sponge like the other good college basketball programs. They are already a better basketball school than Gonzaga.
If Carolina can sneak past Kentucky, I'm seriously considering driving down to Houston to go to the game.. or at least I was until I saw it'll cost me $300 just to get into the doors!
LOL weakling! How often can you see your team live in the final four? It's worth it! If UK can beat UNC I was thinking about doing the same thing. Do the Rockets play any home games during next weekend? Edit: oooh I could see the Spurs and the Hawks games... hmmm more incentive to hope for a UK win (as if I need more)
Yeah, I'm not expecting the tickets to be cheap. We haven't had a major event in a while so I'm assuming at worst local demand will be there to buy tickets. Maybe the prices will drop if VCU beats Kansas, but maybe not because then two cinderrelas will have a shot. I'm assuming folks would be happy spending $$ to see either of UNC/UK or UCONN/Zona, although I hear Kentucky fans are used to spending $$ to see their team play.
More like I'm poor! I'm still going to try; the drive is like 24 hours from here. It looks like the Rockets have games on Friday (SAS) and Sunday (ATL). I believe the NCG is on a Monday night, which should put the final four matchup on Saturday? That would make for a sweet basketball-vacation before finals.
me too... but I haven't spent any of my tax refund money. It would be an awesome weekend... here's hoping one of us can make the trip. It's about a 18 hour drive for me
2 teams are in. So far we have the following storylines: 1) Cinderella (Butler) 2) Kemba Walker (UCONN) Will either get 2 more storied programs tomorrow or 1 and another cinderella. Shaping up to be a good Final Four.
I was actually considering going to this, my friend's a huge Sublime fan and really wanted me to go with him, plus its free, but I don't think work will allow it. If they get a good opener (not that its likely) then that'll sadden me
Wow, the NCAA is running a racket. To buy a ticket fron UCONN's or Butler's school allotment you have to buy a hotel room....one hotel room for a minimum of 4 nights for every ticket purchased. The cheapest package is $1,400 (one ticket included). UCONN https://ems.resrunner.com/_events/873/packages.html Butler http://www.anthonytravel.com/event/butler-basketball/?ShowAll=No&gated_password_check=#Land I see why the city will make so much $$.
I would have liked 3 super schools and 1 pumpkin go in. But this might be too much. I wanted to see hot sluts everywhere next weekend.
Wow, so two shocker schools made it. I can't believe VCU won that game. Can history be made in Houston? That would be kinda cool.... Edit: Also, I'm guessing tickets should be easier to get now since no one will probably want to see VCU/Butler.
