A 20-3 run to start the 2nd half for UConn. I had a feeling they would take over. Butler is finished. They've hit the wall and UConn has them figured out.
UCONN has absolutely disallowed Butler from penetrating. All of their passing is done on the perimeter and whenever they get chances in the paint they pass it back out. Another layup missed by Butler, too. This is just sad. Wanted Butler to win, and they can't hit a single shot.
Man, I wanted Houston to do well in this Final Four. Unfortunately, we get two incredibly small schools in the final and one of the worst-played National Championships ever.
The only way Butler will win this game is if NCAA announce sanctions against UCONN in the next few minutes.
It started interestingly in the first half, but once UConn pushed the lead out to 5 points in the second, everything went downhill from there. But yeah, this was a generally badly-played game.
IMO, the key is UConn is the first team to completely solve and shred Butlers defense. Once they did that, it was ballgame. I must say Butler's shooting is historically bad. They just completely fell apart. But until UConn started scoring, Butler was OK. Cannonball, about 20 years ago UNLV beat Duke 103-73 in the championship game. It was a more pathetic mismatch than this. But it was due to one team being good as opposed to today.
did anyone else hear somebody yell "wtf" really loudly after that failed 35 foot bounce pass on the 3v2 break by uconn? oh and game streamed http://www.firstrowsports.eu/watch/...mpionship:-(8)-butler-vs-(3)-connecticut.html as well as on the ncaa website http://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/2010-12-19/ncaa-march-madness-demand
Butler's so bad it's laughable. This is the worst team I've ever seen in the NC game, hands down. They've been completely overwhelmed in the paint... 5 min left in the game and they have 30 f***ing points... 30!
Clark Kellog's an idiot. "They're just a tad bit overmatched, Jim." I hate listening to this fool address his partner after every statement... "Poor shot there, Jim." Gus Johnson should be working this game... SMH.
Word has it that Butler used the Texans locker room, and Kubiak showed up to give the pregame speech. Besides telling them to battlefight as hard as they could defensively, he told them to look away every time they shot.
