We used to live at 5675 Desoto in the pink condos in the early 80s. We fortunately were able to find a buyer and then moved into Inwood Forest Village in 1985 (My junior high and high school years were spent in the original Inwood Forest). I knew the Desoto area was a pariah. There was an article in the Leader about all of the drugs, prostitutes and "ne'er do wells" that were hanging out there. My dad would occasionally go over to those condos to do some handy man work and would have to step over folks in the hallways. I was mainly asking about the Acres home area down Victory. After we moved out of Houston and would come back to stay at my parents' house, I used to go running straight down Victory into the Acres Homes area. Not a single soul ever bothered me or thought I was up to no good.
I’m gonna keep this civil if you want, if not, we can both go and fukk ourselves? I understand the plight of black people more than you think and I will tell you why if we are able to have an honest dialogue. Who do you think will be the first to suffer when you see the criminal elements in the black community acting up?
This. I don't care if the excuse is BLM, criminal conduct must be punished. Those thugs should be arrested and charge with assault and battery. Young people need to realize there are consequences to their actions.
I am pretty sure that there is no one in this thread excusing their behavior. Everyone appears to be in agreement that they should be apprehended and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
My first job out of college I worked with an older white guy who lived in Inwood in the eighties. He was from East TX. I always wonder what his true thoughts are on what happened to the area. Down by Tidwell its interesting how some subdivisions they just stopped construction. Like they didn't even fill up some streets
I may be misrembering, but we have some casual friends that live in Oaks of Inwood (the "high class" Inwood Forest" ). I think they said things were deteriorating, but mainly due to Harvey repercussions. When we go to Houston now we stay with friends in Oak Forest. The tear down and rebuild is crazy there.
Oak Forest has always been nice. Now they are building the large homes but when I was a kid in the 80's my mother would go to the Kroger's on 43rd and before the large houses I thought it was one of the nicest neighborhoods in Houston
LOL. You are ****ing BIGOT. No need to talk to you until you recognize that. LOL. No, the first people to suffer when the "Criminal Element" acts up are BLACK people. Why? Because over 90% of crimes committed by black people are against other black people. You don't want "honest dialogue", you want to say "White people have no role in fixing the Black communities problems. It is all on them". Go find your Klan hood and take a picture.....so we will no who u are.
And they will be. I assure you they will be caught and punished because we know the Justice system LOVES to punish black people for their crimes. The problem is cops haven't been.
That lady should be charged. There is so much hate today. Too bad we don’t have a president that bring people together. All he does is race bait and sow division.
I call you out in that thread you did not reply. The Michaels hit him with the truck and call him the N word. You are so full of crap. No one takes you serious
Hit him with the truck? Doubt it - Arbery looked physically 100% when he rushed at McMichael, assaulted him, and attempted to steal his gun. Called him the N word? No proof. What is this, the get out of jail free card? Reminds me of Myles Garrett last year and Mason Rudolph. If someone calls you a bad name, you are clear to assault them? Yeah, not in our legal system. Give me a break. Important lesson: Do not try to steal people's weapons - it never ends well. Bonus lesson: Do not do drugs. Double Bonus Lesson: Do not fight with policemen.
Your answer to my question is correct, but when you called me a racist and a bigot, I was having flashbacks to when I was still practicing medicine. I would literally drove hundreds of miles to see my rural patients that have no access to cares( Texas is a huge place), and many of them were blacks. Nobody cares if they would lose some toes, a foot and going blind because of diabetes. The many wounded warriors that I fitted for their prosthetics so they can walk again, many were black soldiers and we became lifelong friends. The many medical missions that I did , one particularly in Haiti, where you literally operated in the field similarly to a MASH unit after the earthquake with very little supplies so you have to improvise. How about the young black doctor who I have mentored since he was in college, and later came and worked with me and took over my practice now that I am retired. I was wondering did all those black people that crossed paths with me think that I’m a racist and a bigot? When you go around calling people racists and know what’s in their hearts. You will carry that heavy burden in your soul for a very long time.
Again read the reports. Funny you don’t even know the case. Go back to the thread. You won’t though. Because your takes look stupid now
This is inspirational, thank you for sharing. And shame on people who just casually and loosely call people racist and bigoted. Frankly, it makes the accuser look very bad - very ignorant.
