I was harassed on the subway shortly after the 2016 election when I visited Manhattan for a much needed vacation. I was at the kiosk but needed more time because I wasn’t sure which option to pick for tickets. The black lady behind said “hurry the **** up!” And I sarcastically replied there are other machines. She was livid. Started cussing me out. Started a Facebook live saying this Donald Trump MAGA racist was about to make her go wild. Thankfully she was going to the opposite platform and the station was nearly empty, because even from the other side she kept shouting at me and saying I was a MAGA racist. I just shook my head, anxious things could devolve further, and then boarded my subway train when it came. The vacation overall was enjoyable but that stuck with me. Some people are quick to perceive an insult because they just want an excuse to fight. This behavior is not exclusive to any race or gender.

this incident and the arbery deal are the same. Likely racial but you cant say all the way and both instances where the person was out of place and got ganged up on. The kids need to be charged and receive real sentencing for assault the same way the shooter in arbery case deserves the max charge associated with murder in my opinion minimum life. That's been a while .... all the old inner loop and quite a few of those outside the loop "hoods" have been gentrificated .... those people had to go somewhere and now they are scattered thru out the suburbs. Acre's homes was seeing the same thing happen as many of the other neighborhoods nearer downtown .... tear down the old houses and build townhouses / modern 3 story's. Property values rise and those people can't afford the taxes and are forced out. Covid may have shut down some of that construction. I don't know if you remember how bad Washington Avenue used to be .... but you could buy one of those houses between Washington and the RR tracks for $25k a decade ago , now you can't touch an empty lot for half a million.
