When anyone says “who?” I still still say “MIKE JONES!” The younger generation don’t get it unless they’re from around Houston.
What a waste. I wish they would just do something. I don't like that area of town, but it's an older side of town and really, a lot of the old apartment structures and old shopping strips need to go away before any significant redevelopment of NRG park would lead to something substantial in the area. It's also criminal that the old Astroworld parcel is being used for storage and parking. Just a complete waste in that side of town.
Frenchy's wasn't near that nice when I used to go there, it was not a storefront. I recognize Cafe Brasil and the others, of course.
We're going to make the old phrase Stinkydena expand to all around Houston and the Gulf Coast once all those pollution regs get lifted.
That's not the new Frenchy's on Scott. I don't recognize the location in the pic. The new spot is much nicer, but the taste hasn't been that good since they moved out the original location imo.
An amazing variety of terrific cuisine. The first class museums and theatre. The music scene. A great zoo. The professional sports. NASA and so much more. The other side of the coin? The terrible traffic. The lack of zoning that has destroyed much of Houston's history. The flooding which seems to get worse year by year. The pollution, etc. That the city is "home" even though I've lived in Austin these last 45 years.
