Don't remember this place, but I do remember Vinal Edge. It was owned by a guy named Chuck Roast(?) who had a show on KPFT.

Sound Exchange was on Westheimer just east of Montrose. I remember Vinyl Edge, but because it was up on Veterans-Memorial I only went a couple of times. Knew a guy by the name of Springer that worked at Vinyl Edge for a few years though. I think he's a coach now.

The Shamrock was swanky, indeed. The cream of the crop in entertainment played and partied there, including members of the Rat Pack. My grandparents went to dances there. Those nightclub photos (think of the final shot in The Shining) were common at the Shamrock and they got a couple there.
    Also, this:

My cousins had a membership there and I'd go with them in the summer. It was very impressive.

What a coincidence. I was just watching videos about EZ 7 and the Texas Pipeline. I used to skate at EZ 7s around '84, '85 when there was a wooden 1/4 pipe opposite the feeder ditch, instead of that concrete extension. And back in the 70's I'd skate with my older brothers at the Texas Pipeline.

Solid Surf before it shut down and was replaced by Games People Play off 1960.

Subtitles would have been better than a script, less suspicious that they made up the "translation" afterward and just repeated the same phrases over and over again in performance.

We got kicked out of Speedy’s so many times. Would drive there and then just spin each other out and get booted.

I remember that Games People Play on 1960....it had a miniature golf and arcade and I think batting cages and a go cart track (I think or was that Malibu Grand Prix)

Worked at that Games People Play summers of '87 and '88. Had all that and waterslides and bumper boats, too. The go-carts were long gone (too many kids getting hurt) and replaced by the batting cages which literally almost killed me when I got a hand caught in a pitching machine loader.

The after hours parties at that place were legendary.

I had my first heavy make-out session (including boob squeeze) behind the waterslide there in the 7th grade.
