Just have to keep winning and the national attention will come. The Texas St. game should be over by halftime, but we do have a history of ****ting the bed against inferior opponents. I've bought into the Herman regime, though, so I'm expecting the team to look better every single game.
I think we'll need to fix Hoff and get bball attendance up before a major conference will consider us. Football alone won't be enough though it does play a stronger part.
Hard to tell. Has Patterson given any hints about his feelings of Big 12 expansion? It's probably less about Patterson being fired and more about who they hire to replace him.
These predictions don't really mean much, but still interesting to think about. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/13647669/college-football-bowl-projections-week-2 Notre Dame v. Houston in the Fiesta Bowl would be fun.
The new rules that discount FCS games will be good for our schedule. It used to be quite the struggle to get a home and home with average P5 programs, now that door is going to be flung wide open. The big fish are still either going to ask that we 1) play at NRG or 2) give them lopsided deals, but they can go pound sand.
http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/aac/houston-cougars.php Looks like our season opener next year is Oklahoma. I do kinda wish we had a weaker opponent first weak to get all the kinks worked out, but we should have a lot of returning starters.

UT would be cool but I'd rather see UH beat Briles and Sumlin. It would be sad if Herman has success and heads to UT. UT, A&M, and Baylor having former UH coaches would suck a little.
OOC schedule going forward will probably look like this: Rice Local FBS team (UTSA, UNT, Texas State, etc) 2 x P5 teams (think UCLA, AZ, TTU, OkSU, MissSt, KU, etc)
UH will never be able to compete with UT or other big time programs, Pardee knew it 25 years ago when he installed the Run-N-Shoot so he wouldn't have to recruit tight ends or running backs instead of overstocking on second rate receivers.
There was a time when some of the worst football teams in America included Baylor, TCU, Clemson, and many others that have rebounded. Do you know how long "never" is? Teams rise up, and teams go down.
