In other UH news Deonte Skinner's scholarship was pulled after being arrested in Louisiana for allegedly having sex with a 14yr old girl. UH has decided not to renew football/basketball play by play man Tom Franklin. This is ****ing r****ded move in my book.
Firing Tom Franklin....that is asinine. Seriously was ANYONE unhappy with his performance. Radio broadcaster is kind of important if your team doesn't get on TV that much and I think Tom does a great job.
This is the same school that promoted a sparsely experienced position coach after one of the best seasons in school history. An experienced radio guy with more lucrative offers anywhere and who will probably always have increasing salary demands. There is not, never has been, nor will there ever be, any real money in the U of H athletic program.
Tom Franklin is good at what he does he was good doing Oilers games in the 90's and UH was lucky to get someone of his caliber doing the game. This was another dumb Mack Rhodes decision.

I'm pretty sure there have been other schools that have had "talks" with the Big12. Are they interested in us? Who knows...

I would love to be in a BCS league but I will believe it when I see it. UH has had the rug pulled out from us way too many times for me to believe some speculation.
Not entirely clear, but something about UT vs. Rick Perry and Longhorns trying to shore up support in legislature by including us and the other big schools in Texas against A&M/Perry initiatives.
Despite modernizing this state about fifty or so years ahead of the rest of the South and near- Mid- and Southwest; Texas universities do some really dumb, petty bull**** to each other. Like when we were running the Coordinating Board and kept A&M from getting a law school.
