I miss the comics in there when I went: Coogie, which I think was written by someone on the janitorial staff; and Ruth the Pig, which was written by the other Jim Parsons after no one answered his ads requesting submissions for a second comic strip. Also the passive aggressive follow-up editorial the day after any editorial calling for Helton's firing, complaining about entire stacks of the paper "mysteriously disappearing" from the rack at the Alumni Athletic Center. ("As it clearly says on every issue, the first paper is free, each additional copy is 25 cents.")
I loved Coogie. I had cut one out that really made me laugh and taped it on the dashboard of my car. That car got stolen a couple years after I graduated. I believe the author was John Palamidy: http://www.johnpalamidy.com/
Case starting for the Brown tonight. Still the sickest uniform throwback in the history of college athletics (followed closely by Tulane).
Crazy that he's one of the few QBs of that class still playing. Tannehill, Wilson and Cousins are the only others I can think of.
Thought Keenum was dead, lol. Where's he been? He will need to shave for this game. Hope he lights its up but he's so far removed from being at UH where he was throwing every down think it will just be hard to pick that quick throw style back up without some serious reps. Denver screwed him. Revenge game. All said, his miracle gainst New Orleans solidified his life and career as a green lit. He's be capable of unseating Baker, but seems unlikely coming in cold.
Thought Keenum was ok. He was accurate on the short throws, and missed a couple of long throws that were open. But given he had a short week not too bad. Plus Beckham sucked it big time. He was able to spread it around to 10 guys too, which is a Kennum trait. I'd give him a B- for getting the job done, but it wasn't a work of art out there.
