How is Southern Miss any more "decent" than Tulsa?

Houston will play Penn State in the Ticket City Bowl on January 2 at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

Agree. It gives UH another chance to show how good they are...I don't buy that yesterday proved us to be way overrated and a fraud. The team played bad and got spanked. Had they played like they did the rest of the season, like they did against SMU and Tulsa, it would have been a different outcome.

Now they get a chance to prove yesterday's loss was a fluke, and not their season. They better get up for it though, I have lingering memories of the Armed Forces Bowl in my mind.

As do I, another try to redeem and prove ourselves against a Top Defense and a Big Conference School who is ranked. Let's go Coogs!

Houston entered the Conference USA championship game with a 12-0 record but lost by 21 to Southern Mississippi, which lost to 3-9 Alabama-Birmingham, which lost to 1-11 Florida Atlantic. In less than four hours, C-USA and Houston lost a reported $13 million in BCS bowl revenue.

Oh, Hi. I guess you're new around these parts. If you're going to cheer for the coogs, then please let me introduce you to an essential concept:

    verb: COOG'N IT

definition: when you have the most to lose, you forget to show up and lose in disastrous fashion. e.g., the USM game yesterday

Oh wow, it's a battle of both of my schools!

A normal person would be conflicted, but alas, I hated my years at Penn State. Here's hoping UH blows'em out...

Agreed...Still pissed about the Drop but they need to be prepared for this one...They just weren't "in it" Saturday...was it a combination of Sumlin's name being popped up and a great scheme by SM...Well, at least they go to Hawaii...

Still proud of the year...Go Coogs!!!

What is scary is that Penn St. Defense is lightyears ahead of Southern Miss. Plus they will have a few months to ease their minds some from the Paterno scandal, and prepare for Keenum.

Coogs defense needs to be ready stop their hapless offense, and Sumlin needs to throw some wrinkles into the offensive game plan.

^^ UH's offensive line needs to hold if they want any chance of even keeping up in the game. They got man handled all around by USM. And they really need to be disciplined on stopping the run because Penn State's biggest strength is running the ball.
