Who do we want to win in between Temple-Memphis? Memphis winning could help our SOS, but if Temple loses they could potentially lose out on the East title to USF via H2H tiebreakers (both could have a 5-2 conf record after this week). I'd imagine Temple is the much more ideal opponent in the AAC championship game as they have a stronger SOS and more impressive resume.
It depends on whether you're in the "I think we have a shot at the playoff/I want to play the best teams possible!" camp or in the "I just want to secure going to a NY6 bowl". I'm in the latter, so I'd rather play USF in the AAC title game. Not really concerned with either outcome, though.
I think we have no shot at the CFP, so our primary goal is to make it to the AAC championship game and then win once we're there. Because we're not going to CFP, I don't think we need to worry about SOS so much because if we win out, we go to NY6 regardless of SOS. Between USF and Temple, I'd rather play the team that's easier to beat. Temple looks worse at this point in the season than they did earlier, and meanwhile USF is getting hot. USF seems like a bigger threat to us in the CCG, so I'd rather play Temple. I do think Memphis beats Temple this weekend, though.
Also, for anyone who cares, here is a link to the Board of Regents meeting livestream that's in session right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBXy2jcgKpk&feature=youtu.be Hoffheinz renovation was approved. I think we're still waiting on the vote to give authority to amend Herman's contract.
Fertita just said they want to move Herman's salary to $3m and increased performance incentives. They're talking about it right now.
3 million with likely nearly 4 million possible with incentives. Hope we negotiate an enormous buyout clause too. Suck on that, South Cackalacky.
Seems like we're finally learning our lesson after letting a few good coaches walk. Herman's our guy and we gotta lock him down. $3m will put him into around the 30th highest paid FBS coach. I hope that's enough to get it done.

Don't matter. As long as we beat Navy (we'd take top rank for group of 5) and the win in the AAC championship will boost as more to secure a NY6 bowl. Honestly we are not going to make the CFP given how much the committee hates us
