    Pretty much, yeah.

    :p

I also feel he sells out for interview access. I think he's compromised, and it shows. In a two-paper town, we'd have positive and negative spin every day, competing for readers and a story. In a one-paper town, we seem to only get the happy talk. Part of the beat writer's job is following the team and the other part is making a story out of what happens. I'm not sure Feigan is any better than Eddie Sefko.

EDIT : Today's article is pretty good. He writes clearly. I am displaying my bias. I'm looking for less quotes and more analysis, week by week.

This is crap. Not only for this guy's heightened opinion of Yao's impact on the game today, but if you want the offense to focus on Yao, your next best player better NOT be another inside presence.

Let's see. Inside-in or Inside-out. Which do you think spreads the floor better?

If you think Steve & Cat is redundant, how about having 2 guys fighting to get the ball in the post?

Its good to hear an honest opinion without it being what the Players/Management have been saying. Its not very accurate but it an opinion worth considering, unlike Feigen!

That makes his 22 points much much harder earned than, let's say in a florish offensive team like Marvs or Kings. Everyone on the opponent team, including every single one in the audience and service staff, knows he's the only weapon Raptors has. If you can shut down VC, you win the game, as simple as that. Every trip down the court, he faced double team or tripple team. He's no Shaq, he could not muscle through, he could put up tough tough shots. He's a nice guy, I guess that's why everyone is diss him, even the Toronto fans, because nobody is going to get hurt if you diss a nice guy, except the nice guy himself. Isn't this the moral of our modern society?

while we are in the elton brand pipe dream, let me lay out my scenario for a perfect offseason.

    Steve for Brand
Cato plus the exception for Rashard
    Brent Barry for the MLE

    good times,

First of all, I think he was not just speaking about Yao's value as a center on the court itself, but also he's market value to the fans, to the sponsors and much much more. Second, inside-in or inside-out or inside-out and then in, they are not isolated. It's part of the inside game, or better to say a complete game. It's important to go through the big man, he doesn't need to shoot every time. But it's vital to spread the floor and cut. Why the big men in Kings have so many assists? The whole runs every night. How many cuts do you see in the Rockets games?

Apart from your top 5, I bet you would get anyone from 6 to 11 by trading Yao. You might also get Shaq because of his age and salary. You forgot J. Oneal. I think Pacers would take account of your trading proposal too.

Justice has to be kidding me, him and Lopez must be having a contest on who can write a dumber article.

Its obvious that he wants SF gone, and he thinks Yao is a TOP 5 player? I hope SF and others don't read this crap and think he is speaking the truth, I'm tired of hearing these guys write articles purely on opinion, not facts.

Richard Justice should stick to baseball.

I am not familiar with Richard Justice, but he thinks like I do with the exception that I don't see Ming as a top five player, maybe top twenty or, at best, top ten. Ming's final performance really underwhelmed me. Overall, he had a good series, but, as Clutch pointed out, "he came up small" in the last game. If he doesn't learn how to play with more aggression, he could become a giant roadblock in the lane that has an occasional superstar performance. Please, may it not be true.

Number one need, a PF. But, if Francis is still the PG in the fall, the Rockets are screwed. Yes Francis has improved his game, yes his passing is better, yes, he is more disciplined, BUT, he is still so OUT OF POSITION. It is painful to watch him try so hard to be something he is not. Yes you can "train and condition" someone to do something that they are not naturally inclined to do, but will they ever be as successful as someone whose skills just naturally "mesh" with the positon? No. Please, end the pain, move him to another position or another team.

It's a lot of "I want this, I think it should be that...". We'll just have to wait till the offseason to see what CD and management are planning to do. It would be nice to get a PG and PF from FA or from the draft or even from a trade. But I know definitely I DON'T WANT TO SEE SF AT PG AGAIN!

I keep hoping that Brand might be available. They won nothing this year, again. Donald Sterling has wanted Iverson for awhile to sell tickets so that's why I post (not that it would happen) 3-way swaps with Philly; the 76ers were looking to get Cat (but we turned them down, because Cat for Snow at the time just didn't cut it). Steve/Cat/Mo for Iverson/Snow/KT, Iverson and KT for Brand and Maggette, that sort of thing.

Then I wake up and realize, Damn, I gotta go to work. Again. And my nice dream is probably just that.

Only thing I'd add to that article was the mention of our $7 million TE. Arguably, that's more of a trade asset than a maxed-out SF contract.

xiki, Charlie Ward is one of only two guys in the NBA I see as a perfect fit for the JVG system. Eric Snow is the other, but I doubt O'Brien would let managment move him.

I said to a "lesser scale" Charlie Ward. I wasnt suggesting he is the answer to our problems. I am surprised that Hart is getting more minutes than Ward, perhaps Pop likes what Hart brings to the team. But nevertheless, I wouldnt mind having Ward be a backup PG for this team. I like Mark Jackson but his time has passed. We need someone to play decent minutes in a reserve role. If Ward can get the ball to Yao, play decent defense and hit the 3pt shot when the defense sags then I am all for it.

I get the feelling that Justice wrote this article weeks ago and was just waiting for the Rockets to lose to print it. Why does Yao get such a pass? This is a guy who has been raised to be a bball player and he was trash at crunch time during this series.

And all people can talk about is trading SF, who has had ONE sub-par shooting year. And the odds are SF will come back next season ready to resume his elite status.

    Justice stick to baseball.

I think the 76ers would move Snow if they could. He is getting older and has a bad contract with a lot of years on it. Initially I thought Snow would be good here but I think we can get a better value with someone else with a much more reasonable contract.
