Sam I seldom disagree so much with you. Are you an obsessed JVG fan?

Seems like a reasonable post to me. by ghetto cheese.

If you agree with that dumb troll you're quite simply dead wrong on many levels. But then again you always love a good conspiracy theory.

Why do you have resort to name calling?

If you disagree with my opinion its one thing but what did I say to warrant such treatment?

I said it before and I'll say it now JVG failed as a coach and now he is looking for the easy way out so his reputation doesn't get tarnish.

Will you also admit Les is looking for the easy way out because he wants JVG gone? Neither side will admit they want a divorce even though they both actually do. If you ask me, Les should have just made it official a couple of days after we lost. He is trying to save face just as much as JVG. Let's face it, the Rockets probably offered an extension they knew JVG wouldn't accept, so it gets them off the hook.

After they interviewed Adelman last week, do you think for one minute there was any chance JVG would be coming back? No. Why do the Rockets pretend they are waiting on him when they have already moved on? JVG is playing the same silly game.

Yeah it's not like I'm siding with for all I care he is an incompetent fools as well but he also happens to be the owner and boss of the team. So it is up to his discretion on how he handles his coach. Look I don't really see this think Les is really calling the shots here like Steinbrenner or Mark Cuban. I think at the end of the season both the owner and coach were scrambling to put blame on some else but themselves. But JVG failed to realize he is a paid employee simple as that. You don't go out playing mind games and trying to better your position.

See my biggest issue with the Rockets is that if both JVG and Les were unhappy with each other and there was a genuine drift between them then why didn't anyone do something? Les should have made a coaching earlier if he was unhappy with the way JVG handled the team. Jeff in turn should have made his intention's public about this or just plain out hand your resignation. But to see these two fools ruin a whole year where our best players are only going to get older from here on is truly sad and unforgivable to me. Now I can't do anything about it that would affect Les, maybe boycott the team but I love the Rockets so much that I can't. So I can only show my anger towards JVG and his shortcomings as a coach. Don't think for a moment I support Les Alexander for his mishandling of the situation.

What's come out is Les was kind of rough on JVG during the offseason with some blunt comments that gave JVG serious pause. In addition, JVG was ruffled because Morey's hiring blindsided him. You can argue Les is the boss and it's his call but it loudly signaled JVG's influence would be diminished.

After the good start and after the Rockets kept winning without Yao, apparently Les decided to offer an extension. JVG was still miffed and asked that things be delayed until after the season, which is where we are now.

To your point, Les didn't want to fire JVG last summer. If he had, this charade wouldn't be happening now. I'm not supporting JVG's posturing at all, but most of this is on Les. HE is the boss and the decision maker. If the Rockets had announced sometime in the last couple of weeks: "We definitely want Jeff back next season", then things would be clear. They haven't and this is all we need to know. Les doesn't want to be known as the owner who fired his coach after going 52-30 during an injury-plagued season. He is a weasel who is squirming to avoid taking responsibility. At the same time, JVG is also posturing. He isn't fooling anyone (I hope) by saying the ball is still in the Rockets court. It's nasty now and he knows it's over.

It'll be funny to hear Jeff as a commentator on ESPN. I'd love to watch Game 6 SAS-PHX

Yeah but let's be realistic here JVG was brought in to carry us deep into the playoffs with his resume and post-season experience. We were almost a
borderline playoff team before he got here and so why shouldn't Jeff be fired if he fails to get us there regardless of how many wins he got in the regular season? Take Avery Johnson for example he won 67 games and got bounced in the 1st round. At some point Cuban must have thought maybe he is not right for the job. I mean they were already a playoff veteran team before he took over so what's the big deal if he gets fired? Now back to JVG, I think it just depends on what kind of expectation Les had from Jeff. Now if we were a perennial lottery team like maybe the Clippers or Warriors and JVG was brought here to get us back to respectability then maybe I would side with JVG if he got fired after winning 52 games. However that is not the case here so we need to examine JVG's role and what was expected of him. In my opinion I expected him to bring his playoff experience and guide us deep into the playoffs. Remember his ultimate doom wasn't in the regular season but in the playoffs with both Yao and T-Mac healthy playing a team against whom we had home court. If you can't win in that kind of situation then maybe the Rockets have a genuine right to seek another option. Now if the owner abuses that right and back stabs the incumbent coach then it doesn't sit well with me. Les should have used some common sense and told Jeff the truth straight to his face and then let him walk away with his pride and dignity without having to resort to such childish behavior from both sides.

Les should just announce his decision and JVG is trying to force his hand. That's the crux of the matter. Whether JVG deserves to come back is another discussion. Both sides are acting childishly but Les is being the bigger jerk about this because he doesn't have the guts to take responsibility for the divorce.

Les: Just announce you do not want the coach to return after an injury filled 52-30 season because you think it's time for a change. Be man enough about it. If the Rockets falter next season it is on YOU! If they have great success, you will get the credit for making a tough decision that turned out well. :) Have the courage to get on the hot seat for the next 12 months.

I think he will do this only for ABC

Jeff does a good job of commentating games, can't wait to hear of what he is going to say about the rockets this season
