Here's a photo taken immediately after he was given the news about the Rockets interest in him. You can feel the excitement oozing from your computer screen.

Spree is not the answer. I bet he looks like DA right now with flabby arms.

    sigh.

Dude, this season is done. Put a fork in it.

Jon Barry was gonna retire last year but decided to stick it out one more year since the team looked promising.

We need to get younger and more healthy in the long term. How does Barry help that.

The Rockets are stockpiling 12th men, basically. But at least Frahm can shoot, isn't undersized and isn't old. They at a minimum can take a look for 6 weeks at how he would fit around Yao.

This offseason we have two bullets to add young rotation pieces -- the first round pick and the MLE. It's possible they could get lucky with a couple of trade exception pieces as well.

Dont we have another TE for the Moochie trade _ pretty close to 3+ million?
And the other smaller one for the DA trade?

We should have a $4.2 million exception from the Moochie trade. Plus we've got Swift, and Head that could be moved for an upgrade.

Dont sleep on that 2nd round pick either. It might be the 1st in the 2nd round and that can be valuable. Hey, if we could find a Salim Stoudamire type player there that would a bonus.

With all the PGs (Telfair, Jack, Blake, Dixon etc) on the Blazers roster, wonder if they would be willing to just move Steve Blake for our TE.

VERY good point Deuce... I forgot how valuable the top pick in the second round is (Knicks just beat the Pistons though, so lets hope they're not showing a turnaround). If we were willing to take a guaranteed contract from the first round, I bet we could swap that pick to a deep team -- someone like Phoenix -- late in the first round. Being that it's as close to first round talent as possible without the guaranteed contract, that's a valuable asset.

Yeah, or a resigned Speedy Claxton for the TE.

I thought T'Wolves released Richie Frahm so he could get a chance to play with the Rockets for championship. Oh well.

Agh, I don't know if I should laugh or cry ...

I totally forgot about that pick......that is fantastic...first round talent for a non guaranteed contract.

Yeah. Van Gundy told him he had to play defense. Frahm is still think it over and his agent is calling Phoenix.

    :)

    Just kidd'n

Bets like this are just wild guesses. Spree might just as easily be in great shape.
Its not that I like Spree, infact I dont like him atall, but he is one who can put the ball in the basket.
What i was trying to illustrate is that the Rockets management was making a minimal move when the needed maximum help.

Yeah.. I just saw the ticker on NBATV that said that the Rockets claimed Richie Frahm off waivers from Minnesota.. so I guess he's on the team now.
