Well, at least we get to see JT a lot more. I'm really liking JT's game.

    Tmacnuggets,

This is getting out of hand. I'll be the first to admit that Tracy brings court vision and passing that the team could use and in spurts he has looked pretty good. On the other hand, his defense has been suspect (who can deny this?) and his effort on that end of the court seems to be diminishing.

To sit here and say he has earned more minutes or that he will stop hurting the team if he gets more minutes is borderline insanity. I'll admit that I'm dumbfounded by Trevor Ariza's minutes but Ariza isn't a $23 million expiring contract who keeps trying to screw the organization and has a history of folding when the heat is on. Ariza hasn't forged an identity here. McGrady has and it isn't a good one.

If you're McGrady, you needed to come out and wow the organization if you wanted them to re-think their plan of trading you. McGrady didn't have to put up All Star numbers in 8 minutes a game but he damn sure needed to close out on shooters and not lose his man defensively. His effort has been inconsistent and lacking on many occasions. That doesn't exactly scream "I deserve more minutes."

As Cook who has not made 23 million dollars to sacrifice his playing time so TMAC can get paid

I agree. With some of the things I'm reading it would not surprise me if a comment like that was legit except I remember reading other posts from this member and they were not kind to McGrady.

You know I guess I am in a very small minority here, but I have and always will consider anyone wearing the Houston Rocket uni a great fan of mind and will not bad month him ever as long as he is a Rocket.

That being said I have never said bad things about an Ex-Rocket but have though them (Pippen comes to mind).

I just hope this doesn't change in the future.

Wow, this is really odd. you wouldn't set a player for asking more minutes plus T-mac wasn't out of the line and he didn't say anything disrespectful, I would say Maybe trade is coming.....

Ugh. Can not handle this anymore. What was supposed to be a nice compliment to this team is turning into a major distraction. I'm a huge Tmac fan but this is getting ridiculous. Either play him or trade him. I see no point of benching him.

    .........
wut. This has to take stupidity to a whole new level. How is he going to feed his kids on over $100 million?
Just.....wow. Am I speaking to Latrell Sprewell?

Well, he's gotten paid at least 7 million to warm the bench. Luckiest guy ever.

Three teams in 12 years makes a trend? Besides, even now, his behavior is much better than that of, say, AI. And, look at how Kobe was behaving a very few years ago (without regard to his legal problems); demanding a trade, etc.

As prima donnas go, he isn't at all remarkable.

I think both sides are lying or have varying levels of wrongness in this. Rockets9395 the insider guy keeps eduated-guessing that the 8 minutes limit has to do with insurance. I dont quite buy that, but it wouldnt surprise me with all the behind-the-scenes things factoring in. And if it really is (95% chance unlikely), that financial bottom line is just cheating everybody of basketball product on the floor.

To me its...why deactivate McGrady? McGrady haters are already groaning, but please read some context for once:

If you already have a trade in the works, play cool let him play it out for a couple weeks, then ship him. Situation done.
Why the symbolic action of benching him? That just brings more attention to the situation.

If McGrady outright refused to play the 8 minutes anymore thats 1 thing. If he outright said trade my ass this sucks, comply with a benching and trade or buyout. If its they just didnt like the way he competed while on the floor, its over with in weeks if you already have a trade. Players dont have to be put on the inactive list to be traded.

Yes, this is an awesome board. As for settling down, this brouhaha is coming from people that adore the coach and GM. Graded on a curve, I wouldn't say there's any lack of jawboning here... nor that there should be.

My guess is that he went to the organization with an attitude about getting more minutes and their reply was "then you get none" because they have a plan to get him out the door soon.

I'll bet we don't see him at tonight's game or tomorrow's.
