What kind of effort are the Rockets looking for? I mean the guy is competing out there when he gets on the court isn't he? Unless I'm missing something....

All of you guys tell him to keep his mouth shut, but honestly if you were in his shoes...so far you have:

    1. Had major surgery which team health officials say was agreed upon (go look at keith jones video)

    2. Done intensive rehab so you can get back on the court for your contract year

    3. waited at least 7 games when you were healthy, but you agreed it was ok

    4. When you finally do get playing time and are very efficient...they will only play you 8 minutes.

Bottom line is he has played him 8 minutes EXACT. Not a minute over. I think the rockets are not showcasing him because teams haven't seen his stamina. He barely sweats anymore because its just 8 minutes.

The larger conspiracy would be that they don't want to play him and resign him at a very low contract with high benefit because he can play...I DONT believe in this, but it could be something farfetched.

I think a trade might be in the works... I have heard Kevin Martin might be able to play by the end of this month. Tyreke Evans is playing extremely well, so the Kings might trade Martin because they are looking to save money.

This is a trade that worked on ESPN

Kevin Martin(who signed a 5yr-55MIL offer 2 years ago) and Kenny Thomas (9 MIL expiring contract) for Tmac

I think Morey does this trade if he thinks he cant get a top free agent next summer....

I meant Tracy doesn't want to play here either.

Trade. That is what both sides need. And I don't care if you are a tmac lover or hater. Trade is the best SECNARIO.

uh...b/c he's been better than that guy who's playing 39 minutes a game? ariza has hurt the team more than tracy since tracy has returned.

so no, he's done with the rockets.

Let's see what happens after the second game. I'm sure more explosion will result.

This is theoretically possible but illogical when you look at the circumstances. They want him out of dodge and don't want any hiccups along the way. It has nothing to do with him not being in "game shape" because the only way that comes about is by playing extended time in games. You cannot practice your way into game shape.

Correction - they are sitting him down after he went to the press with a demand for more minutes. Tracey needs to keep team stuff between him and the team.

The thing is they have just signed Ariza for 5 year deal. They can't just say he sucks and doesn't fit. They know it is not working but they spent the whole summer to get him.

They just have to play him no matter what.

They didn't give McGrady enough of a chance, 8 min. a game at the end of the 1st ? He didn't hurt us / make this team worse when he was on the floor. I just don't get it...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, my main concern is how this effects getting free agents here in the future. McGrady aint the only ego inflated maniac out there. Most of the guys we will want are gonna have an ego that will get in the way and will want to be treated accordingly. I just hope our handling of him won't cost us another player.

Not once did I call him a superstar. I do believe that he has superstar level talent, which I alluded to. This team does not have a superstar at this point and I think they are in desparate need of one. But I do think that because of the talent level and basketball iq that T-Mac has that you can build a team around him. Honestly, at 80%, he is a better player than most wing players in the game on the offensive end when you look at his total arsenal. I believe that he needs to dedicate himself more at times on the defensive end, because he has shown that he can defend at a high level when he has to. But the argument can also be made that when you have better players around you that you can expend more energy all around. I am not here to make that argument. But I do believe and will argue that if T-Mac is still a guy that you can build around if he is at 80% of his optimum performance level. Heck evev at 70% he is a guy that can give you decent production on a team that is built around another superstar.

He looks like he is getting progressively worse on defense to me. It's purely about effort and discipline.

That's like saying Steve Nash needs the ball in his hands to be successful. What about the assists he dished out against the clippers? What about all the easy layups Chuck Hayes gets from TMac? What about the attention TMac gets when the ball is in his hands. Lately Ariza gets a lot of touches too, and we see where that gets us.

I don't mean to continue to bring him into this, but if you are advocating against TMac you are advocating for Ariza because he is the only viable alternative. And I love CBud but he is NOT a starting NBA guard yet. He is severely exposed on Defense time and time again. He can't even guard second tier NBA 2's. And if your solution is to have Shane guard them every night and find the other teams absolute wirst player for CBud to stick, any junior high coach knows that you ue CBuds assignment to screen Shane and then leave CBud exposed against DWade, Lebron, Kobe, Joe Johnson, Vince Carter, Baron Davis, Kevin Durant, Jason Terry, Josh Howard, Ron Artest, Melo, BRoy, Ginobili, Peja, Jason Richardson, Hell Von Wafer..........

Any of these guys could drop 40 at will with CBud Guarding them for extended minutes. He hussles, can dunk, and can sometimes shoot. But TMac on one leg with his bottom lip poked out is a better defender than CBud, and TMac on one leg with his bottom lip poked out is a better shooter and ball handler than Battier or Ariza, and TMac on one leg with his bottom lip poked out is a better passer, penetrator, and facilitator than Aaron Brooks.

All your personal issues and year old hurt feelings aside, he is good for our bottom line win total. I love this team but i can only be proud of my undersized under talented, under manned team playing their heart out and still losing by 2 points so many more times.

OK, I know you are delusional in your man crush.

But please explain how McGrady has been BETTER than Ariza?

    At least Trevor plays Defense.

And some people set the bar ridiculously low for players they love.
