I still don't understand this when he was clearly injured the entire year.

DD, I actually agree with you on McGrady, but I'm not sold at all on AB. If the Rockets didn't have a decent backup PG in Lowry, they would be in a heap of trouble. AB has got to become more consistent because his disappearing acts are wearing thin. His shooting percentage is terrible, his assist/TO ratio is terrible and his late-game decisions and mistakes are terrible. As a 25 year-old in his 3rd season, I think he should be more steady by now. He's got to stop dribbling into traffic and tripping himself on the perimeter.

JT is earning increased PT, and Tracy isn't? I think JT is a long shot to ever be a good 6th man.

A trade must be close. No way they sit him for complaining unless he is done here for good. No way they sit him for two games and then say "let's try again, Tracy" and put him back in. One way or another he has played his last game as a Rocket but I don't think the team would give up on showcasing him this quickly unless a specific deal is on the way. Let's pray it includes shipping out Ariza with McGrady.

McGrady by asking for time without deserving it in the eyes of Adelman is messing with the chemistry; which as it is is so fragile - do these players believe they are that good?

The Rockets just don't have the standard NBA formula in talent to be where they are at in the standings - at least according to every expert out there The longer they remain competitive, the more confidence they will gain. Right now, a lot of people are thinking all the Rockets have built is a house of cards.

But, it's a house built by Morey based on statistics. Adelman is making it run fluently. This team does not need any distractions. As it is, it is winning.

McGrady can end up destroying this potential contenders squad; by mere distractions. We all know he wants a contract to sustain his livelihood after this season, but come on, if the Rockets can win with this group; it's exciting like heck!!!!

McGrady was an awesome talent, but his time was a failure; McGrady never got out of the first round (period!!!!). He was on a team that didn't need his services to get out of the first round.

McGrady sabotaged the Rockets last year, those relationships are trying to build again, but with McGrady starting to pout in the media "Cameo" talk; it's back to "DNP" status.

    0% chance of happening.

As far as McGrady goes, I think it's best for the Rockets and TMac to part ways.

We showcased him. Some of us liked what we saw, some of us didn't.

I believe he didn't do enough on the defensive end to warrant any extra playing time.

If we trade Ariza too then we'd need to get a legitimate starting 2 or 3 with good D in return. I'm not sure you can find a better bargain than Ariza with his MLE.

Just trade TMac, no need to trade one of our cornerstones as well.

I'm sure you've arrived at such a sound conclusion only after researching the nuances of Taylor's game from the high school level through all of his collegiate play.

I really don't see any of the contenders trading 20 million worth of contracts to us for McGrady.

And if we bought McGrady out and he signed with a contender for this season, then the contending team really has nothing to fear.

If he causes any sort of distraction, they will just let him ride the bench and he will have even more DNP-CD then he does here.

I wonder if Yao wants Tracy gone? Next year Yao, even with good role players, will need someone who is an established star in this league. Who will it be, who will it be? My guess Tmac gets traded for some crappy players.

McGrady isn't in the same poisonous class as Marbury. His expiring contract isn't a big risk either. He's playing for a contract so any team that picks him up will get a player on his best behavior who is also looking to have playoff success to get a monkey off his back. In many ways, McGrady is the ideal mid-season acquisition. The main concern teams have about him is health, which the Rockets are being very cautious about. Like I said in an earlier post, he very possibly could have a setback and I want it to happen after he's gone.

Dave_78, you may be right about something being very close. Would make sense. How much longer can this go on?

We're not winning with Ariza and Battier starting. Might as well trade Ariza and Mac for a star if we can.

I know but I can dream (and pray).

I thought McGrady looked ok at times. What bothered me was his defensive intensity seemed to be decreasing each game. I can forgive being out of rhythm and maybe even blowing a defensive rotation since he is rusty but his effort went downhill from game to game. After re-watching the Orlando game footage, I was pretty disappointed with his unwillingness to contest jump shots.

I just don't see how Morey/Adelman can pull this guy if they think there is even a tiny chance he will play here again. It would make no sense on any level.

Did I miss something? I know I've been dealing with a newborn and all, but didn't Adelman say this was the plan? Play him him 7 mins or so for 6 games then see where he's at? I knida wish morey would just put together a deal to take back 17m and get it over with. Simmons, najera, and boone comes close. Martin and thomas also makes sense. Tracy news shouldn't dominate this board like it does, but I guess that's the world we live in.

    I agree with you A_3P0,

But Since Brooks has only started like 55 games or so, I am willing to give him some time.

PGs with his speed and shooting ability are pretty rare....let's let him grow into that star player we need.

    He is on his way.

    2. I said the same thing, they will evaluate him, been the plan all along.

    3. Yeah, I want him traded too.
