He can have all the potential in the world, but all of that is useless if hes not healthy and in shape. He can't even play decent D in his 8 minutes of playing time. If he tries and gets burned on the break, I am fine with that and I am sure RA would be as well. Problem is, a lot of times he doesn't even try.

I'm pretty sure that was AFTER it was shown no one else wanted wafer and that his value was a lot lower than you though it would be. Prior to that you were complaining about them not making an offer to him and/or not being high enough. Point is you've been riding daryl and Rick excessively in this thread, as if you roll with them no matter what, and you don't. Maybe most of the time you do, but you only bring them up when it's convenient.

And i've seen you go on a roll and call others tbunnies without them calling you a hater....either way, you have admitted to be a tmac hater, so why would others be "moronic" or "T-bunnies" for calling you that? You are that, you admit to it, therefore it's the truth. You shouldnt take offense to it when you admit it's true.

And you have yet to realize this is a long process, you can't say with certainty that what tmac has shown so far is it, that he wont improve anymore. He's going to be improving for at least another 2-3 months, maybe the improvement won't be significant enough, maybe it will. I'm pretty sure the team is taking this into consideration, which is why he hasnt been shipped out yet.

I suspect that RA has 'issues' with McGrady, and he reacted to the comments. DM the GM is supporting the coach IMHO.

I, too, am not convinced he'll be traded. I think he will be; I assume he will. But I will not take a trade to the bank.

Yes, that's why we saw him aggressively trying to play defense against Detroit (with the fronting, jumping to contest the shots), do a solid job defensively on Melo, and Dirk. Against the Magic, he was poor defensively, but you can't prove he wasn't trying defensively. He keeps helping too much in the post, and isn't quick enough to recover. He also couldn't keep up with Carter when he uses the pick and roll, but we saw Battier get beat on those plays too. Of course we don't notice that, because McGrady's minutes will obviously and rightfully so be heavily scrutinized.

He's more lost on the defensive schemes than not trying. But whatever, that notion that he hasn't played defensively has been stuck from last season, and if not playing absolutely elite defense, will not be changed.

Actually, I was trying to be funny. Apparently I failed, and as a "member", I cannot edit my post.

    No offense intended.

Sweet Lou, I retract my misplaced remarks. Thank you for your positive comments to my earlier post.

What do you call a team with great role players but no stars?

A First round exit from the playoffs!

inb4 tmac has never passed the first round.

Ah, in that case, I also retract my own misplaced remarks.

    $7 mil = $8.75 - $5.25 worth of player(s). That's 'no value'?

McGrady is best served IMHO going to a Minny, for example, where the fan base gets energized yet he is not believed to be the June parade leader.

I love this team and I don't particularly care for Tracy, but I absolutely HATE how we're handling this matter. Ariza is in way over his head and seems to be getting worse as the season progresses. Battier is a complete zero at times. C-Bud is hurt. JT doesn't appear to be bringing much to the table. I mean, at what point does this start to click?!

I refuse to believe that there's no reasonable compromise that can be made between the two sides. And no, playing him 7-8 minutes for a couple games in the first half and refusing to budge (especially agaisnt Orlando when the Battriza trainwreck was at it's worst) is NOT a 'reasonable compromise'. Yeah, we're okay without him but we're royally butchering an opportunity to get better -- and that, as a basketball fan (and a Rockets fan), is tough to swallow.

You are just wrong.....there are times I will disagree, but more often than not, I do agree.

Regarding Wafer, I said I would not pay more than $2-$3 million tops.....Morey went lower.....I had no issue with that......

Maybe you should lighten up, and realize it is all in good fun......at their expense of course.

    :)

Yeah, the difference between you and me apparently is that I can see what type of team they are building and what direction they are going, and Tmac does not even remotely fit into that type of team.

Whatever RV.....if you don't like the T-bunnies or T-groupies comments, feel free to put me on ignore.

To paraphrase He-man....YOU HAVE THE POWER !!!

What do you call a team who develops stars like Brooks and Landry?

What do you call a team with great role players + a hobbled, selfish, former-superstar?

    See above for answer.

Maybe, maybe not. I actually think this team can be a second round team if we have a bit of luck with matchups and they definitely won't be a "In Playoffs, roll over and die in 4 games" such as say, Detroit last year. At any rate, this team could be a second-round team, and it hasn't been so with T-Mac.

given that they have signed Mike Harris (i think, haven't seen anything official) and told Von that they are ready when he is healthy, I'm betting McGrady has played his last game as a rocket.

Demanding more playing time when you haven't played in 18 months due to a recurring injury.

Seems like a stupid move to me unless you're all about yourself ahead of the team.

    ___

I WANT to support McGrady and his comeback - but he's just made it too darn hard. The coaching staff are trying to educate him on how to be a part of a team, and what does he do? Comes out and whinges to the media (a cleverly disguised whinge).
The team 'suspends' him for 2 games, but has the decency not to call it a 'disciplinary suspension' - and here we are talking about how the team is making itself look bad??

It's only McGrady who is making himself look bad here. What's he done to deserve an increase in playing time? Scored 3.2ppg on 36% shooting? David Andersen is scoring at the same rate, but at a higher % (43).
