Anyway... I think this is a good plan. I'm glad he mentioned he hasn't felt the same since the playoffs last year, which makes sense, and isn't saying "knee is fine, just need some rest", or some other crap.

And after the All Star break he will come back and by some miracle be healed. I just don't think the guy likes playing all season long. If he comes back healthy after the All Star break i'm calling out shenanigans.

4 BTB's in January, and we just came off a 4 game in 5 night stint. That is freaking ridiculous.

Better McGravy miss these games in January than in March, I guess.

I wonder if Artest decides to also take off one game on back to backs. They can switch off. I'm sure Adelman would love that.

well, tmac also expected to be at 100% 2 months into the season, tmac also expected to need 3 weeks off, so this doesn't mean anything. We still have no idea if and when he'll be good to go.

But if you're gonna go 2-11 against division rival NOLA one night (exuding minimal effort), why take off against franchise rival Utah the next?

It's a built-in excuse that he'll pull out later on next time he doesn't "feel" like playing.

He'll play in most back to backs, just take what T-Mac says with a grain of salt.

their names rhyme, their quotes often make you  , they both make $20m, and they both want to sit on back to backs. eerily similar.

I guess not playing in a back-to-back is better than not having him at all or having the "lazy" McGrady. And awesome news about Deke! Even if he doesn't play too much, I love watching his enthusiasm from the bench. Deke Rox!

he'll play every game after the all-star break for sure.

i think right now, he's still tentative with that knee (in terms of the soreness from too much playing time--fatigue -> soreness). as long as he plays v. the hawks and celtics (the next 2 b2b), then it's all good. the first game is v. subpar teams.

this will allow him to go all out on games he does play and get the necessary rest to reduce any soreness that comes up the next day.

this is a good plan. i was proposing this plan the moment tracy came back in the first place after his initial rest. the doctor still said tracy should play in LIMITED minutes but he played 35+ regularly.

so b/c i proposed this plan initially, obviously thus i'm for it. i said he'll be ready to go physically in another month or so.

This is good, especially for us fans. We know what to expect.

More importantly, McGrady the spotlight is going to be on McGrady to play with energy when he is on the court.

I am also glad that Morey and Adelman finally got McGrady into a room, and hashed out what they expect of him.

    Lets hope this plan works.

This is a joke. I'm so tired of this ##%$^. He is worse than his reputation. How the hell can a grown man sit in a room full of other grown men and look them all in the eye and tell them he can't go out and do what every other player in the league does....play with pain. Read between the lines. It sounds like they begged him to play and the best he would give them is to play one game of back to backs and all management could do was shrug their shoulders because they know if they piss him off he'll poison the franchise.

Can't he just play reduced minutes every night? I know coaches and players never stick to the reduced minutes plan but maybe just play Tslack in the first half only with the agreement that he absolutely does not return for the second half.

Having him in and out of the lineup cannot be beneficial to this team's chemistry. Meanwhile, Yao is still playing too much and Artest, who actually has a real injury, is trying to pick up the slack. So this team will roll into the playoffs with it's two real stars falling apart because they had to carry the weight of the highest paid player on the roster.

I'm fine with this, but the only thing im worried about is will he be in great shape at all this season? His conditioning has been off this entire season along with his explosiveness.

Can't he at least suit up, just in case we're in a bind and he feels good enough?

we have a lot of b2bs coming up even though we already played 10 so far. This means Mcgrady will miss a lot of games this season.
