In the past when the AD and the Prez were at odds that was the case, but I believe Maggard will now have the freedom to pay a big name who will bring in the recruits. He's not stopping here.

Art did a great job and deserves all the success and happiness he gets.

...And yes,he'll always be a Cougar.

    Good luck Art!

Man that's cruel. Actually enjoy it while you can. When you leave that place and start working, you'll miss it!

I take it you're a current student. Get your backside to the basketball game on Friday night. Big opportunity for Coach Drew and the team to make a statement against a good team in Washington State. They need the fan support.

You don't have to try to get me to the game. I've been the one trying to spread the word as well. The Bear Pit is making announcements, facebook groups are created, half a dozen emails have been sent out...people know about the game, so hopefully they'll pack the FC.

I have a hard time saying that. the "Art Briles era" was fun, definitely. But I can't wish him success because I dont want to him to succeed at Baylor. He deserves all the success as long as he's less successful than UH.

U just knew it was going to happen...I wish him luck, but now let's see who's next...Someone that can continue what he started...I'd like someone that can continue the offensive style we currently have...

I guess it makes sense that he doesn't coach the Bowl game, but for the players, you'd want him to...

Glad to hear this. It's time for the fan apathy at Baylor to end.

Back in my day, it really pissed me off when friends would skip games for frat/sorority events.

Yea...but don't speak too soon....Chi O and Tri Delt from what I've heard have Christmas functions (dunno if it was a matter of scheduling before the bball calendar was out or not) on the same night. Eh...who needs em...they'd probably show up in pink Baylor shirt or whatever.

Yeah, Briles isn't coaching in the Texas Bowl....

I wish this would've waited until the bowl was over with....i'm thinking that this will mess with the players' morale.

I was hoping for UH to win this bowl game. :(

i'm thinking when i was in college i preferred hanging out with Tri Delts to hanging out at a basketball game. but maybe that's just me.

Exactly. We went to a lot of games. But I do remember starting to lose interest my senior year. I was dating my fiancee (my wife now of 10 years) and was ready to move on.

How great were intramurals at BU, though? Seriously, that was a blast!

I think it actually bodes well for UH that Art isn't going to be there.Besides this is the Texas Bowl we're talking about. It could give some insight as to Maggard's position.
Perhaps we will hear a quick announcement on who the new head coach is thus helping us get a head start on recruiting.Of course I AM a glass is half full kind of guy. ;)

Who reported the 10 year 1.8MM figure yesterday. John and Lance were all over whoever it was, saying it was basically bad journalism. I want to hear what they have to say tomorrow

Be a lot more upset, as a Cougar fan if this had happened before the Tulsa game.

Its clear the tougher (relative term) elements in C-USA have caught up to the Stephenville system. I am guessing it won't take those Big 12 boys long. Bet the over...but don't expect the Bears to win many.

Yea they were. We're you in a frat?

Nice to hear that you found yourself a nice Baylor girl before you left.

I wonder how long the team has really known about this.

...and another thing, besides the defense..we had the alternating QB thing going since Kolb's departure.I've never been a fan of this.
I mean I knew we would have a dropoff of some kind, but the Coogs lost games that they shouldn't have.Even so they almost beat Alabama on the road and played Oregon tough up there. There's a lot more talent on our team than most might perceive...be it young and with more on the way,I still think in many quarters folks expected more consistency....including Dave Maggard.Art did a good job of getting us turned around but it's time for a proven big boy to step in.
