    I think UH needs to become an independant, this will allow them to host multiple games at Reliant vs big time programs who want to showcase their programs in the number 1 recruited city in the nation.

    When UT/LSU/aggy all start losing Houston area players to Notre Dame/Michigan/Ohio St either the Big 12 or the SEC will want UH.

    my .02

    this is the only way because UH has a horrible stadium and a small fan base so even if they won cusa every year they are still not a viable option

    i like that idea. but why isn't this happening already? UH has non-conference games to schedule.

    UH is traped in CUSA so regional teams don't care if they play them and as far as non regional teams they want Reliant and UH want's to play on campus.

    Miami came in here on a Thursday to "promote" their program. time for UH to make Reliant avalible to all programs instead of a select few

    me = owned

    UH = not owned

    Maggard is one of the best AD's in the country, and this is a buyer's market for coaches if there ever was one... we're going to get a great, if not better replacement, for the stephenville steamer...

    lol, Maggard is just the best UH has had in a long time.

    No End Zone facility
    No bowl wins
    No trips back to the NCAA tourny
    Baseball program has not done any better under him

    AND THE MOST IMPORTANT NO IMPROVMENTS other than what the Dynamo did.

    Attendance is better and Penders was a great hire (he better get it done this year though) but UH is not anywhere close to being back to where they were only SMU fell off worse than UH and they were never where UH was to begin with.

    For your mental health say this out loud

    "UH will never win a national title in football"

    Now basketball is another story, the Coogs just need to get the Hof looking a little better while Penders still wants to coach and as we all know it just takes one great class to turn it around.

    So how many of you Coog faithful are going to support your team at the Texas Bowl?

    that is the goal right? To win a national title, progress is ok but the goal is to win it all.

    When you go to UT/LSU/USC/Ohio ST/Florida etc. etc. they tell you (the recruit) that the goal is to win national titles not cusa titles

    We don't have unrealistic expectations. Sure, a national title would be nice, but the program is still very much in a rebuilding stage and we'd be happy with consistent winning seasons and C-USA title game appearances. We're still a few years off from expecting yearly conference titles and top 25 rankings.

    I have had some of my college football inclined friends tell me that Big XII officials would like to drop Baylor and Texas Tech to add UH and Arkansas.

    I doubt it will ever happen though. The legacy of Ann Richards lives on. :D

    Arkansas I can see but UH isn't an upgrade over BU or Tech.

    Hey, who can honestly say what those crazy college football wonks in the Big 12 office will do.

    Briles deserves a lot of credit for pulling UH out of the toilet but he isn't the end-all, be-all of coaching. He's had numerous failures, including three bowl losses to mediocre teams, about a billion yards worth of insane penalties, and oh yeah a 40-point drubbing in this season's most meaningful game. No way Tulsa is 40 points better than UH; Briles did not have his team ready to play. It wasn't the first time, either. On their best days, the defense manages to make juuuust enough plays to keep the Rices of the world from keeping up.

    There was a lot of talk (well, some talk) amongst die-hard fans this season that Briles has already hit his ceiling. I'm not terribly inclined to disagree. He's good enough to get UH to respectability but making them truly competitive may be beyond his ability. That's from a purely coaching standpoint; he's had some of the better recruits in school history.

    Refman, I hope your post was meant to be a sarcastic one. Otherwise, your college football inclined friends are not as inclined as they would like to think.

    WTF would Arkansas leave the SEC now?

    And wtf would the Big 12 even sniff at UH? They don't have the money or political power that Baylor does.

    Also, this Ann Richards **** is just stupid. With a private school like Baylor on the team, the Big 12 isn't subject to the same financial disclosure rules that they night otherwise be.

    I've heard from some very trustworthy sources that Maggard is a REAL pain in the arse to work with.

    I will be willing to give up my University's OC for a bag of magic beans.

    I'll throw in both our DC if it will seal the deal?

    Please take Akina, McDuff and Davis Cougars.

    There really is a GD => UH rumor going around.
