Graham is a total Douche. When he took over Tulsa he pulled a scholarship offer from a commited high school player. Unspoken rule in coaching is that you honor a commited player's scholarship offer from a previous regime.

Who says he got hired or will even accept if offered. Didn't Briles interview somewhere else last year just to pry some more cash out of UH?

To me, Baylor is a step down from UH.

The only good thing about Baylor is George's for a Big O. :D

if a lateral to verticle move can be made by a coach, chances are they are going to explore the option, if for nothing else than just to increase their bargaining power in their own situation.

briles interviewed for the iowa state job 2 years ago, but it was only to get a bump in salary, and it worked.

    briles is not going anywhere.

todd graham, on the other hand...

(did he really get called a D-bag on the PA? lol)

I thought Briles was a UH alum and this was his dream job. Of course if he does well there, he will move on to bigger and better things....but Baylor???

I agree with DM. He's not going anywhere. At least not yet...

Yes, the MOB did an entire halftime show making fun of him (and Tulsa), and then capped it with the following joke:

"So a nun, a priest and a rabbi go into a bar. I don't remember how the rest of the joke goes, but I'm pretty sure it ends with Todd Graham is a douchebag."

That was announced over the PA. Tulsa fan was livid.

However this plays out,I see UH coming out smelling like a rose.

Whether it's Briles or a bigger name/another name on the rise the Coogs will be OK.

Briles has done a fantastic job,but one way or another Maggard will finish this.

As mentioned it could be a negotiating tactic or Dave might have decided we should have won the conference and with the support of the prez is making a big step up.

UH is a program on the move at a critical juncture.

would be a great hire for Baylor although he should hold out for a better job. Aggies should have gone after him as well.

Until they offer him more money. Significant money. With a 5 year deal to a man who is pushing 60.

We all tend to look at these things without considering where these men are in their lives. This is likely an opportunity to make a boatload of cash...and if he can get this team to win some games in the Big XII, he can likely write his ticket anywhere. It's just a bigger stage in the realm of college football.

    But you're right about Big O's :)

900,000, if I recall correctly. If Baylor offers him 2 million, I couldn't blame him for going, but I doubt it'll happen.

Oh wow that's a lot of money. I thought he'd be paid around 250K-300K.

Is that over a couple of years or yearly?

I can't blame him, although I would be disappointed...Big 12 vs. CUSA, no brainer...I could see him have success at Baylor...

A better scenario, Briles stays at Houston. Houston then joins the Big 12 and Baylor gets demoted to CUSA. :D

    Sounds much better!

Is UH under any considerations to join another conference? I bet we would get more market share than Baylor.

Sorry, I meant more demand for tv coverage....a generous fan base even if we're not a "college" town.....because we're Houston and they're Baylor.

Except it doesn't work that way. Houston has 4 million people...that's true. But UH has rarely held the attention of the city. Until Briles, it rarely held the attention of its own students.

Baylor has ridiculous money behind it. As much as I'd like to see them in another conference where they'd be more competitive, they're not going anywhere.
