Charles is trying to give us a kick-in-the-behind guys. C'mon, do you realize how ridiculous it is to say we can't beat the jazz? "Can't" is a strong word - the Jazz aren't the Spurs/Suns/Mavs. I think Charles actually likes the Rockets - wants them to do well, and says these things to motivate them. The Rockets are a really likeable team - especially Yao.
I wonder if Barkley is actually secretly trying to motivate Tmac and the Rockets? But, if you look at it from his perspective, number 5 seeds are not supposed to beat number 4 seeds, so he is just playing the averages. Do you guys know the funny story about smellyass Barkley and Kobe last year? Barkley criticized Kobe at the beginning of the season, about selfishness, ego stuff and etc, Kobe does not want to have big mouth enemy at all, he sent several new version Playstation (or Xbox) to TNT guys as Christmas gift. After that Barkley changed his attitude completely, he started saying Kobe is a playmaker and kobe is the greatest player ever....

Doug Collins if not, is one of the dullest mediocre color commentator in the history of commentating. He makes dried feces more interesting in a shallow bayou. Have you ever seen the old school games on nba tv; when Collins used to coach the bulls? He looked like a 12 yr old altar boy getting molested by gypsies priest! This is the only reason I love living in another city rather than Houston. Jeez, Sir Charles hates us, Sir Charles hates the rockets blah blah blah. I can't count the number of times Charlers Barkley has dissed the Mavs(mainly in the nelly era but he still showed them no respect last season). Charles Barkley says stuff about a ton of other teams, unlike some folk in the media I don't think its cos charles hates them, just Charles likes to hear himself speak.

I don't think Chuckster likes the Rockets one bit simply because he was cross with Clyde and Dream at times. He dogged it at times, played his heart out at times and wasn't young enough or good enough still to help us get a ring. He left Houston without a ring and I think he felt it wasn't his fault... but others on the team. Just my worthless 2 cents
whocares.............................. it seems like whatever Barkley says the opposite happens, if he picks one team to win the other team wins. If he says a player will score 50 pts. in the game that player will only score 15..... so just be..........................
As has probably been repeated several times in this thread by now, Barkley hates every Rocket team that's ever been on the floor since he retired in 2000. He doesn't think the Rockets can beat anyone.
Coach wise, yes. I feel Sloan's gonna teach JVG how to play playoff games by beating us 4-3. AK47 won't even play becasue of his injuries. Fisher beats us hard by his clutch performance. Luther scores overall 30 points in the first round playoffs. Hayes is proven to be useless. Wells and Snyder will spark. Yao and T-mac will still deliver decent stats but we lose anyways becasue we have a worse coach. Sorry. Charles may think JVG is an idiot but he didn't say it. I have a feeling he likes Yao but really really hates JVG.
You forgot to mention that Battier will also be useless. He has proven time and time again this year that he doesn't show up for the big games. I don't care what he did in Duke, I won't believe it until I see he can contribute in the playoffs. Look at his shooting numbers against Spurs, Suns, and Mavs. Yeah, I know it was mentioned that the Jazz aren't those teams, but they have a better record than us at the moment and it's obvious they can get the job done. I'll worry about the playoffs exactly one month from now.
Jazz is a not that easy to beat, especially if they have the home court. Deron Williams is going to own Alston Boozer certainly is much better than Howard/Hayes Those are the 2 weakest positions on this team Then Okur can shoot the 3-ball which Yao is not good at defending.
