thats not so hard to believe. jazz have the best passing offense in the league while mavs focus mainly on one on one matchups. jazz could definitely hang with mavs if the mavs sstruggle on d.

Utah is Barkley's favorite team. It could be any team matched up with the Jazz in the first round and he'd still be saying the same stuff. I bet Mavs fans are saying that Barkley hates them too.

We've held them in the 80's in two of the 3 games we have played them in...offense solved.

Sir Charles apprently isn't aware that Dallas is in full 'coasting' mode.

Anyways, Jazz deserve their respect and they're in that "very good, but not elite" category that the Rockets have been stuck in for three years running.

That being said, however, let me state this: If Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming don't step the f*** up and lead this team past Utah in the first round (home court or not), I will NEVER again vouch for either guy, and they will deserve getting 'dogged' until the end of days. It would signal to me that we're building our house on a shaky foundation at best, and that as long as the two are the leaders of this team, then we will be going nowhere fast.

Having said that, I STILL pick the Rockets over the Jazz...

Memory check - we sucked last year unfortunately. I don't blame you for forgetting though, it was painful. Definitely a year to test the true fans among us.

What if we have the corner stones in place, but the rest of the crew is just not collectively up to standard? Put a bad team around Duncan and Parker and they will produce very pedestrian results. It would be a He!! of alot easier to fill in the missing role plaer pieces than to change out the superstars. I truly believe they aren't the problem. The problem is the team we have (or perhaps have not) built around them.

Yeah I know, but I was referring more so to 'potential' than anything else.

    Basically, we're stuck in mediocrity.

As for Mac/Yao, I am not advocating their replacement, I am only saying that they need to show me something beyond putting up big numbers. So far, they haven't done much at all, and until then are still the biggest hype this league has to offer. Potential, potential, unrealized potential.

    Barkley is obsessed with Utah...

"There are 5 teams in the NBA that are contenders, Detroit, Miami, SA, Dallas, Phoenix, Oh wait I forgot to include Utah!"

"Ive been watching Utah play this season, Dallas might lose to them in the 2nd round."

Hahahaha, they just owned barkley in a video.

I understand what you are saying, but you have to look it at realistically. First off, Yao and Tmac have been injured off and on, and therefore they have not played alot of games together. Secondly, the supporting cast around Yao and Tmac have not been that great. The talent around them this year is a lot better, but its not stellar. If you take a look at the Lakers when they had Shaq/Kobe, you will see that they had a lot of good role players. Yao/Tmac cannot do all themselves, especially in a the tough tough west. You have got to be more realistic and more objective. I am not trying to make excuses for Yao/Tmac, but you have to got to look at the facts. The horribles moves made my RudyT and Carroll are still being felt today.
