Hey NugzFan, you put up the shots, but how many points did he score in those games? You can shoot 3 of 30, if you scored 30 points in the game it doesn't matter what you shoot if it doesn't hurt your team! And again, Houston may be low down on the apg ratio but it hasn't stopped them from beating some good teams. Houston isn't as bad as you think, I think they'll give Denver more trouble then Nuggets fan realize. Van Exel was on fire, and McDyess was playing like an All-Star the last time these two teams met in Denver, and even though Denver is playing better Houston has improved as well. Houston is only 3 and a half games behind the Nuggets ------------------ Rocket fans UNITE to bring Pig Miller back home! WE NEED PIG! OINK! OINK! OINK! you see...this is what i dont appreciate. 1) ive never said you guys are bad or we are better. thats never been the point. 2) your making more excuses 3) you guys have complained in the past ALOT about the ISOs, but you just push that aside and say 'as long as you win its ok' - well maybe youd be 30-10 if you played better team ball (hypothetical). you didnt win all those games mobley went 5-17 in or whatever. ive seen alot of threads started by rocket fans upset at mobley more than once. you guys are good, but not perfect. defintely as good as us too (probably better). we got tons of problems as well. im just happy as hell to be in the playoff hunt now instead of 10 games out like we usually are. ------------------ the nuggets suck...i know, i know!
I know what you were saying. I hear it on the bbs all the time. FG% is not a measure of Mobley being inconsistent, imo. In fact, I honestly believe Mobley and Francis are the most consistent contributors on the team. A bad Mobley/Francis game rarely occur. Mobley generally always gets his points, and Francis always contribute some way. But, my main point is that you attempted to water down the Lenard/Mobley match-up by doing a broad-brush claim that this supposed "inconsistancy" of Mobley makes it possibly a close match-up. That match-up is most definitely your weakest link in any Nugget/Rocket comparison. You measured that match-up completely wrong in my opinion. And I think you measure the McDyess/Mo' matchup completely wrong, too. Our weakest link is the PF match-up. When I say weak link, I don't mean to dis any player in particular. For instance, Mo' is good, but Mo' vs McDyess is a weak link because McDyess simply abuses us. Your match-up report is pretty safe, and appears not to want to offend anyone. There are two clear mismatches (one favoring you and one favoring us), imo, and you call both close. Also, you didn't mention the thin air which is going to hurt us with a short bench. All-in-all, I give your matchup report a "C", for playing it safe.
It's true that our assists per game ratio is down, but I think he was referring to the key to our success after the 6 game losing streak (which isn't all that much success, actually, but better than losing 6 straight). In our recent wins, the key has been better ball movement. I can't tell you how much I love it when Moochie comes off the bench and get 5-8 assists. It really helps Steve look to score more when we have such a talented backup PG who can distribute the ball. If we somehow let Moochie leave Houston, I think Rudy will regret it much more than most people realize. ------------------ "Of course, everything looks bad if you remember it!" Homer Simpson

Hey I am new to posting but not new to CC.net. I just wanted to know if there were any fans out there that were atending the game in Denver tonight. If you are, please give me a shout. Thanks, and go Rockets. ------------------
Dice gets 35 and 20,but the Rocks win with Stevie ,Cat,and Shandon dominating Van Exel and Leonard...lots of scoring due to lack of interior d on our part and us ripping them up...ahhh..Rockets 115-108...Stevie pulls off the triple double and, SA and Cat go for 20 each...They should attack Dice and try to get him in foul trouble...If he goes, it's a rout...ready to roll ------------------
My prediction: Nuggets - 110 Rockets - 107 ------------------ My dream job is to be a Houston Rockets towel boy. [This message has been edited by fadeaway (edited January 23, 2001).]
Finally a thread where we actually talk about whats going on on the court now, instead of what might happen later. Anyway...I think both teams will easily score 100 points. No way Lenard can hold Cat...wouldn't be surprised to see Abdul-Wahad get the bulk of the minutes, or maybe Posey try and hold Mobley instead. Van Exel is always hot against us, so I expect he and Franchise will cancel out each other in scoring, but Steve will get more boards. Rockets 109 Nuggets 104 ------------------ "Steve is good. Steve is real good." -- Cleveland's rookie point guard Andre Miller on Rocket rookie point Steve Francis
oops - i didnt mean to imply lenard was close to mobley but i based my matchups on your recent games (i went over recnet box scores) and thats what i saw in mobley. i havent watched many rocket games. as for mo-dice, dice does well but so does mo so i figured the advantage was diminished slightly. and yes i did try to avoid anymore controversy as i have brought enough here recently anyways (but i still tried to give my best thoughts on the game) No Worries; Thanks. ------------------ the nuggets suck...i know, i know!
Here is my quarter by quarter prediction: End of first: Denver: 35 Houston: 27 End of second: Denver: 55 Houston: 56 End of third: Denver: 82 Houston: 89 End of fourth: Denver: 122 Houston: 100 No defense or rebounding tonight. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
I just found out that the Nuggets have the best home record in the league. How disappointing. Looks like a near certain loss. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
