from the Disastros/Lastros to the GOATstros/WSCHAMPSstros. i'm going to wake up tomorrow and still think it's a dream.
My first Astros game was against the Dodgers and Orel Hersheiser. Pretty sure we lost. I was born at the Women's Hospital of Texas, which is next to Reliant Park on Fannin. The Astros played a home game that day and JR Richard threw a 3 hit complete game shutout of the Giants.
I was an Astros Buddy in the early 80's, was heartbroken in '86, agonized over the close but no cigar team of the late 90's-05, listened to the laughs during the rebuild, and had myself a good cry after the last out. I'm still amazed I managed to limit myself to around $200 in the MLB shop. I would have spend more if I could, but temporary unemployment sucks.
you and I must be the same age. i was also in middle school during the 86 series against the Mets. i remember like it was yesterday how Mike Scott dominated them for G1 and G4, and would have started in G7 had we won G6. it went into the extra inning if i recall, thanks to a solo home run by Chris Hatcher. and now that you have mentioned it, yes, 31 years as a fan of Astros and finally we were awarded tonight. what a glorious day in Houston. God Blessed.
I will never forget the performances of Keuchel and Verlander in round 1 Of Keuchel and Verlander in games 1/2 in the ALCS. Verlander in game 6. And then Morton and LMJ in game 7 to beat the Yankees. I will never forget how Morton and Peacock, and to a (little) lesser extent, LMJ, performed during the World Series. Just wow. I can’t believe it.
love the pic of correa holding the texas flag representing the state! hehe. Did anyone catch biggio lifting up Altuve? it was epic haven't been able to find the video but it was on the FSpostgame
Congrats to the Astros and to all the fans who waited so long for this. What a great World Series. Could not have asked for a more exciting way to get that first win. I hope the tv ratings were huge because that was the best baseball has to offer.
I don't have a clue about Baseball and probably will never watch a full match, but this obviously means a lot to most people here - so congratulations! Just scrolling through the reactions makes me smile. Happy for each and everyone of you. Party hard because it is special!
