I spent last weekend in Austin. I love Austin. Always have. Great vibes no matter what age you are. It's way more "me" than any other city in Texas. But... I could never imagine myself living there. It's small man. Way too small. And it isn't all that close to a city I consider big. I could probably live in Austin for about a year before I went crazy. Eventually the college kids would get on my nerves (I hate college kids man) and the same places would get old. I'm not outdoorsie enough to get make Austin worth my while.
