1 1/2 year at vet minimum would be a reasonable compromise.

If signed for the rest of the season . . .. . what is our worse case senario
He becomes an RFA and gets a 5~10 Mill a year offer?
Do we think that is it?
What do we think his Max Contract offer will be on the free market?

I liked Deng Adel more than Vince. He needs experience as a 2 way player but he has real scoring talent along with good passing ability. He is much more athletic and quite strongly built too. Defense is his weak point , but he does put an effort by running the floor and blocking shots.

I don't know how good Kostas is.

I don't think House will get that big a contract. He is certainly better than the minimum.

excuse my ignorance, but why did Houston not convert him for the rest of the year? Wouldn't it benefit both House and the team?

He'd be a restricted free agent in the summer and we would only have non-bird rights and we'll be over the cap, meaning we would only be able to match offers up to $2m. We want to lock him up to a longer deal now, rather than seeing him walk for nothing in the summer to a higher bidder. We still can convert him if we want to, but that will be a last resort.

Danuel House's agents are the Raymond Brothers. You dont screw with the Raymond Brothers or their associates, the Tony Brothers.

Good point. We'd be able to match up to our tax-paying MLE, so around $5.6m in the summer, but under the Arenas Provision another team can offer the non-tax payer MLE of just over $9m and we wouldn't be able to match.

They gave him the chance... gave him 3 years fully guaranteed to really prove his worth.... he needs to shut up and sign it.

    His agent is an idiot.

Not a foolish decision, GOD's plan for the Rockets. Don't you get it, it's all GOD's plan. Finding yourself out of the league, gonna be also GOD's plan.

i like this House kid, but his decision to not accept the contract is really a bummer, if u truly wants to stay in houston and play for his hometown team, he'd be able to see further than this, his play apparently fits in our game plan, if he continues his exceptional play for the next 2 years, he might get a 10m contract after this 4m 3 years contract for longer years, say 3 more years, instead if he went for higher salary (say 6m for 3 years)now on a different team which doesn't fit his skill set, and he performs good, he might only get 4 or 5m for 3 more years, this should be a pretty easy choice to make

That's insulting to real NBA 10 year vets.

Well let's hope that's not the case or it might be GOD's plan to have the Rockets 1 and done in the playoffs.

RFAs complicate matters because you have to make them a qualifying offer, which ties up cap space. I get the impressions House would feel disrespected to receive a minimum QO from the Rockets this summer, even though it's the prudent thing to do, team-wise.

cmon man, he is worth more than the minimum. how many different guys have we tried in his spot and he has easily been the best player. im sorry but this front office needs to stop pretending we can win a title with all these minimum contract players. im not saying we need to break the bank for house, but we have to offer more than minimum to someone worth more.

    Add Faried Drop Melo/MCW
    Rockets tax saving 4.3 million

Faried tax alone is $1.2 million.
