Make no mistake, this is the Obama recession that we are in. There is no question that Obama's policies and the economy's expectations of future events linked to these new policies have crippled the markets. Bush's deficits look TINY compared to Obama's new budget. Obama now owns this mess.
It is indeed an April's Fool Joke (intentional or not) to project budget numbers to 2080. That's about 10-17 administrations from now and involves thousands of variables of the global and national economic picture. You may as well wager on the quality of the Rockets franchise in 2080 based on this year's draft class. But hey, if we're talking 2080, I want these guys involved: Absolutely laughable.
The really sad thing is you may actually believe this bull crap. You better thank your lucky stars there isn't negative feedback on these forums. Your rating would be so low it would make Dick Cheney seem like the Prom Queen.
Amigo, I'm sorry that the community hold you in lower esteem than they do The_Conquistador. My reputation is higher than yours, for good reason. I'm sorry that you have a case of ESTEEMIS ENVY
today, on the front steps of the Capitol -- After ripping the Democratic budget as too expensive, Boehner said that "Republicans in the House will offer a better solution that'll be less on spending, less on taxes and a lot less on debt for our kids and grandkids." But there was no budget. "Do you guys have a formal budget yet?" asked a reporter. "Mr. Ryan will outline the Republican budget at 10:30 this morning. And yes we do have it," replied Boehner, referring to Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.). A silence followed, with reporters apparently unsure what to ask next. Democrats, in contrast, had plenty to say, with Obama officials mocking the Republican document as a sad April Fools prank. "If you expected a GOP alternative to the failed policies of the past that got our country into the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, then I have two words for you: April Fool's," said Kenneth Baer, OMB communications director. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/01/white-house-house-gop-bud_n_181687.html
So a recession that started LONG before Obama took office is all of a sudden his fault. Jesus Jorge, I wanted McCain to win too...but this statement isn't close to accurate. It certainly isn't a fair assessment. If you keep this up, you'll stroke out before 2012.
I post on a couple of other political boards and this is all the Reps ever come up with. It's basically Obama is spending too much and what about our children who have to pay for it and then the usual McCarthy spill about how America is headed towards Socialism/Marxism/Communism etc. #1 The Republicans have no right to ever tell anyone about spending and deficits. It's pathetic, like a drug addicted prostitute lecturing someone on life choices and morals. #2 Obama has been in office 3 months and all of this is his fault? Not even the dumbest of the dittoheads actually believes that. BTW TJ The market just had it's best month in 6 YEARS, you know back before the FIRST Bush recession.
like W's 8 yrs of incompetence has nothing to do w it. W had 8 yrs to create this mess.. thus far, in his first 97 days in office, O's policies has calmed the market. it heading toward the right direction.
Another thing Jorgie doesn't want to mention is that W's budgets (deficit projections) didn't account for his two wars.
Personally I do not care who's fault it is. I also think that the market and economy would rebound regardless of who is in office. I do hate when people say points like your #1. Because the last 8 years spending and the defecit have increased, then no one can complain when the current administration completely blows it out. To keep preaching fiscal responsibility and then do the opposite, just doesn't make sense.
I think we should turn this entire thread into extrapolating yearly statistics into 2080. I extrapolated recent crime stats in New Orleans and found that not only will every single person in the city be dead from homicide in 2080, but to fit the extrapolation curve, the crime wave will have spilled out into a lot of southern Louisiana and eastern Texas to find enough people to kill. I also extrapolated recent GOP losses in the house of representatives and found that they will have negative seats in 2080. How does a negative congressional seat work?
