Iguodala's improved his perimeter a ton over the last few years and has become very well-rounded. I guess he's a good scoring wing, but I'd still put him in the same mold of an Ariza or Josh Smith. More of a slasher scorer relying on A+ athleticism, than a skilled shooter that spaces the floor.

If you had the option of Iguodala or K.Martin at the end of a close game, who would you rather have? I'd love to have a deadly shooting threat with our current team make-up.

We're missing a silky smooth, pure shooter. Someone more in the mold of a R.Allen, R.Hamilton, or a healthy K.Martin. That's just me. Unfortunately, there aren't that many out there.

I dont think Martin is the player the Rockets need. I'd rather do Bosh/Yi/1st pick - John Wall and ship out Landry/Battier/Brooks/Scola/Hayes/Lowry/Cook
make them swap give Toronto Harris and Brooklyn can have Brooks+all the expirings so they can sign two max free agents to pair with Lopez.

Then follow this up with Foye/B.Miller/Jones/Thomas both of their picks Wizards 1st and Chicago 2nd and leave McGrady in Chicago and make them swap Hinrich for Butler.

I'd rather do this than any trade from any article.

This way Rockets have a ton of cap space coming off the books, they'd have John Wall, they'd have Bosh and even Yi to pair with Yao. Then we'd have 2 more first round picks and a 2nd round pick.

So basically blow up the team? How do you even know that we're going to be able to get John Wall AND Bosh? Are we that asset heavy that we can swing those kind of deals?

There is just no way this scenario ever plays out under any circumstances. It's that loony.

You'd be dumb not to pull that off. Wall will be better than Brooks+Lowry

    Bosh is better than Landry+Scola

Yi has more value than Battier

Than you'd have expiring contracts of Miller/Jones/Thomas

    Than you'd have 2 more top 20 picks and a 2nd rounder.

Foye is a filler sign Conroy and Wafer and you could finish out the season.

We're not tanking. Period. Especially since we're right in the playoff race.

And destroying the entire team for Bosh is idiotic. For Paul, Wade, or Lebron, you could do that. That's it. The Rockets are not going to destroy themselves for Bosh, and a high lottery pick, as even if we do tank, there is no way we'll get the number 1 pick at this point.

I'd rather have Martin. But you referenced Martin and Butler and said they were more the type we need over Iggy, as if Butler is a scoring wing and Iggy isn't. I view Iggy as the 2nd best option to Martin of those three. I like Butler.........a little bit.......but he reminds me more of Ariza/Battier than Iguodala. I view Iggy as more of a 2 than a 3. I view Butler as more of a 3 than a 2. I believe Iggy has the superior handle and dish skills to Butler.......and he is a good defender to boot.

Your completely missing the point here. Bosh+Wall+Yi+picks+expirings+Foye.

We aint going far in the playoffs think about it.

Those team only give up Harris, Butler, Hinrich think about it.

    Chicago could use Butler+expiring
    Washington could use Hinrich+pick
Harris is probably a better asset with Landry than what we are willing to give up.

....So is New Orleans, Memphis, OKC, etc. etc. Why don't they all tank?
Seriously, this is the old LETS TANK crap, and you'll act like we get the #1 seed for certain, an idea which is ridiculous. Even if we lost every game left this season, we'll still probably finish better than Minnesota and New Jersey, unless you advocate somehow receiving New Jersey's #1, which they aren't going to give up for pretty much anyone we've got.
Seriously, this isn't a video game. You can't just make 50 convoluted trades that work and somehow expect things to go right without killing chemistry and stuff.

    Who is talking video games?

How do you know for sure that they'd would not want to have the most cap space to sign James and Wade? Even for a shot of that you still don't think they'd do that trade? Lopez+Brooks+James+Wade is a good start to build around.

You call this tanking by improving the team through half a season?

    What ever.

Um, yeah. We're not going to throw everyone we have out the window to jump into the 2010 fool's gold sweepstakes. If you want to do that, go watch the Nets.
Frankly, I'm not even sure what your trade idea is, to be honest. You're incredibly vague about the specific ideas (you talk about trading for Bosh, New Jersey's #1, and Yi without mentioning specifically what you would give up for each one and for whom) and dangling the idea that we can be the Knicks and miraculously get all those free agents even without cap space. For crying out loud, one minute, it's Wall, Yi, Bosh, and Foye and then the next it's Lopez, James, and Wade. Completely incoherent.

I just hope Dallas or Phoenix does not end up getting Kevin Martin...

No matter which player we target you have to worry about those teams and San Antonio as well. San Antonio is the darkhouse, they are looking to improve and have the contracts and young assets (Hill, Blair) to acquire another stud. I could definitely see them getting Martin, Butler, West, or even Boozer. Hell I think I heard they tried for Paul. I mean geez.

Unfortunately you are correct, it seems like every year a dark horse team makes the big move, not the team getting most publicity about a trade

    You're a moron.

Do you even think before you post this stuff?

Ok - saying you're a moron is way harsh - sorry. But just tell me the last winning team that traded 8 players in a season? Maybe even the last team?

hint: matching salaries in a trade machine doesn't automatically mean both GMs will pull the trigger...
