Well you bet not watch a Rocket game for the next 7 years cause Francis will be there putting up his stats like always. Give the man some credit.

Why are people so high on Chauncy Jack up Billups? Yea he has a good game every 3 games. He jacks up way too many shots, whines, and is streaky. Most of all, he isn't a creator, he's a score first point guard. Last time I checked we already had one of those. He is definitly not the answer at the point.

No offense - but from the Rockets' perspective: One of the worst trade proposals ever.

I have as many ideas for trades as the next person, or more, but I think the lure of the Rockets for all these potential head coaches is the combo of Yao + Steve. So I don't foresee Steve going anywhere.

ill give him some credit...he puts up really impressive stats that put him in the likes of magic and grant hill. very impressive stats. his scoring, rebounding and assist stats are very good. he does well statistically. on paper, his stats would make you think that this guy is a winner and a stud. you would think that with his stats as they are he would take a team deep into the playoffs. but low and behold, try looking up the "franchise's" career playoff stats and there are none to be found. how can that be?

stats are important, but winning is everything.

he wishes he averaged 6.7. he averaged 5.2, while scoring 15.9 ppg. oh, but i forgot, everyone will say he steps up in the playoffs and is clutch. so lets go to the playoff stats bob.

well in round one he averaged 13.2 and 6.2. hey, got his assists all the way up to steve's level, while averaging about 8 less. shot 42.6%, amazing.

then in round two, when his team really needed him b/c webber went down, he stepped it up to 12.3 and 4.1, AMAZING! shot 42.0% this series. must've been dallas' tough D.

mike bibby has been a 13/5 and 16/5 player the last two years. he got hot for one playoff run, and completely sucked in his last run, even having to be benched in the 4th Q of one game against dallas b/c he was hurting the team. will his horrible playoffs maybe finally stop all the bibby jocking that goes on around the league until he actually shows that he's great? i can only hope.

    How about.......

    Eddie Griffen
    Bostjan Nachbar
    Mo Taylor

    FOR

    #2 pick
    Jon Barry
    CAP FILLER

Detroit will get a legitimate 12+ pt scorer in Mo T along with 2 future prospects in Eddie and Nachbar.

Rox will get a Milicic and a solid role player in Jon Barry.

I really like Steve Francis. He is an elite player. The fans on the board villify him with hateful comments. He has a lot of heart to go with outstanding ability.

In some of the close games it seemed he was trying more than anyone to win. he will do anything to win. Think what he can do with a guard oriented coach - asst. coach helping him- making plays to help him make everyone else better. I know we cannot teach him to be Jason Kidd- creative wise, but a guard oriented coach can help him by designing plays that make it easier to "see the floor better".

If everyone is ready to give up on Francis - I think this is a mistake. Let the new coach decide.

If we end up with some jerk off coach like Pat Riley or Jeff Van Gundy, and they gut the team - it will be like 1991 when Steve Patterson accused Hakeem Olajuwon of faking the back injury -instead of quietly patching things up with diplomacy - taking it to the media and trying to force Hakeem's hand-knowing Olajuwon was stuck with a poor contract.

I only make this unstable comparison because to trade Steve is heavy handed. To critisizeSteve so much is unreasonable. Steve would do well elsewhere- as Hakeem would have done elsewhere in '91.

If we do trade Steve I hope we get something of value in return. When you trade a big time player you almost never get equal value.

We expended great resources to get Francis- who was an unproven NBA commodity. We know what we have in him now. I think he will still carry his game to another -higher level with support and nurturing - not unbridled - trucculent critcism.

No way the Rox would pull the trigger on this one.

Just like Kidd has under 10 assists? Its not his fault that his team is filled with a bunch of superb passers.

Another consumate pg had two assists last night. Steve Nash had two assists last night. Two. If Francis gets less than 5, half the guys on this forum would be hammering him.

Really just superb team players. I think Sac is the second best team in the league.

Shouldn't Mike be scoring more if his teammates are superb passers? He's getting the ball in the right spots, right?

Who else on the Rockets would you consider an above average passer?

    Hell no. Bad trade.

Steve Francis is 5 times the player Chauncey Billups is, and besides James there is no one else in this draft that will make much impact.

I didn't get your post at all, let me break it down.

If I was correct with all of these, I don't get your point at all.

I guess my point is that Bibby thrives in the Sac system because it allows him to. Can't say the same about Steve. I think Steve is by far the more talented player, but I know you don't disagree with that statement.

I just think that people think it should be easy for Steve, when in fact it isn't.

Trade Mobley for Peja, Griffin for Turkoglu. Would Steve average say 1.8 assists more per game? I think he would. Our offense isn't conducive to producing great assist numbers.

Why does vereybody wants to trade Francis? i really do not get it, We do not know how good darko wil be. to trade griffin and francis for him and billups is just stupid. Do most of you like being in the lottery? i have seen alot of these threads where we trade our best player (Ad Yes francis is our best player, Yao isn't ready to be the go to player) for some unproven talent.
