I consider everyone in Asia to be Asian (including the Indian Subcontinent) They don't have an option for Indian on official forms or applications at least I don't think so....I think people just put down Asian As for me...I'm going for white...i mean caucasian
I think black girls didn't get enough votes here. I would like to change my vote to blackish latina or just black...there are some amazingly beautiful ones. The more I think about it, I'll take them all, white, black, whatever. Just not Björk!
If you do that then you have to include Middle Easterners (isn't much of the Middle East part of the Asian continent?) and Russians (most of Russia and the former Soviet Republics are in Asia). You just can't classify an entire continent of people, holding half the world's population, under one category.
I see your point but I think Middle Eastern and Russin people are considered white so lets get this thing straight Asia Asian - Pacific Islander, Chinese, etc. and Indian Subcontinent White - Russian, Middle Eastern I'm pretty sure M.E. folk are considered white does that sound about right?
I definitely don't consider Iraqis, Saudis, etc. white. I'd call them Arabs. Geographically they're close to the Indian subcontinent. Israelis are white, if you have to categorize them. Russians, yea they'd fall under white, just like South African anglos who move to the US are white and not "African American."
Kind of depends, there are always some extremely hot ones in the litter, while there are also ugly ducklings.
On college campuses nation-wide you will find associations for "South Asian" students as being different and distinct from "Asian" students. Two examples are APALSA: the Asian Pacific-Islander American Law Student Association vs. SALSA: the South Asian Law Studen Association. But of course even then you leave "undefined" ethnic groups like Filipinos, Indonesians and Vietnamese. As an aside, to me, it's pretty silly to lump into groups ethnicities that have historic racial/ethnic/religious hatred towards each other (Chinese/Korean/Japanese, Indian/Pakistani, etc.), but whatever. This is not D&D.
afrikaaners are mostly of mixed dutch and french ancestry. the dutch were the first to settle then a boat load of huguenot refugees landed some time after... that's why a lot of them have mixed dutch and french full names.
i'm not trying to be offensive, but isn't this right??? i really don't want to offend anyone...just trying to understand. the woman has never been to europe...certainly never lived there. she was a 3rd generation from her hometown in S. Africa.
If your White and from Africa your a Caucasian if your talking about nationality than yeah African, South African whatever
right..no doubt there. the issue is the phrase, African-American and how its applied in our culture. it's just interesting i think.
