Wow, I got one from Best Buy mid afternoon launch-day a few weeks ago no problems.

I was wondering why I've only seen GBA commercials lately - the DS is so hot that it doesn't need advertising right now?

Don't think the idea didn't cross my mind!! They were limiting sales to one per customer.

That is pretty crazy. I didn't think there would still be this much craze about the DS that long after initial launch, especially since I assume Nintendo has been producing them in good numbers. I believe that they had initially expected around 3 to 3.5 million to be shipped by March of next year, but like the Chron article said, that number has jumped to like 5 million.

I've been seeing them in pretty good dosage, although maybe they should advertise a little more considering how popular the DS is at the moment in order to maximize sells. I believe I saw them on TV around the time they launched in the US, shortly after I downloaded the commercials (yeah, I'm crazy). I think I saw one at least a day or two ago. Of course, maybe they could advertise as much as some of those beer ads with the women...hmm... then they could have another usage of the "touching is good" line. ;)

There had been some at Sam's Club, but they include two games, one old and one new and they've been selling out as well...good luck...

I'd like to get one for my kids but I'm not going to worry about it.

i don't know if you got this for yourself or your kids, but am I the only one that thinks back on all of the garbage my parents have bought me for Christmas and birthdays and thought "damn, I wish they just would have invested that money for me..."

If I ever have kids I'm sure that I'll buy them tons of toys they don't need, but most of the time it seems like I never even played with most of the toys for very long.
