Jesus Christ. The Rockets a year ago set a franchise record winning 65 games and were a Chris Paul injury away from winning a title. This year the Rockets have arguably been the second best team in the NBA. Some of y’all are pouting like the Rockets are the Hawks. Daryl Morey and James Harden are not failures and their jobs are not in jeopardy. One team wins a title every year and the Rockets have gone up against arguably the best dynasty in 55 years and lost.
I'm not opposed to replacing MDA or giving him an extension. I'm just opposed to letting him coach on an expiring deal. Human nature will not allow him to give a F when things get tough. The risk that we might have to fire him mid season is too high, we can't piss a season away. I think people are underrating the risk of James Harden becoming disgruntled if this offseason doesn't go well. There's only so much a guy can take. He would be a hometown hero on the Lakers/Clippers, and if it requires a miraculous performance for him to win, then he can do that anywhere.
Rob Parker is a fraud. By his logic EVERY OTHER GM, 28 total, are frauds! None of them have been able to beat the Warriors save for one CLE game 7. At least Morey has the sack to be transparent and honest and come out and say he lives to take down the Warriors.
This is much more efficient than posting a new thread for every. single. damn. stupid. clip. from. these. chumps. Thank you, Macan.
I only remember him because he’s the idiot that called RG3 a “cornball brother” and said “he’s not one of us”. He’s an idiot flamethrower.
Zach Lowe: This is getting a little weird. This is a lot of stuff for a team that all they did is lose to the Warriors. Should they have won game six? Yes. That was a bad loss. A coach of his status in a lame duck year, it feels like it's not gonna end well. Richard Jefferson: Yeah Zach but when we look at some of their bad losses, they're really, really bad. No Kawhi vs San Antonio, the injury last year you kinda give to them but to lose to the Warriors the way you did when they had a big time injury & to come out and not fight? Yes, you might have a coach good enough to get you there, very similar to the Nick Nurse situation, you might want to find a different voice because you feel you have enough talent. Jay Williams: Them moving all their personnel but saying we want to stick to the strategy, I think the strategy can somewhat work but you need your best player invested all the time. There's times we see him stand at the top of the key. You need everyone to buy into it. Zach Lowe: This is how they play. It's how Westbrook plays. It's how John Wall plays. It's how a lot of ball dominant guys play. Jay: None of those guys have won championships. Zach: Fair. My point is Tilman Fertitta, the new owner, he talks a big game. "Unacceptable!" "We're gonna win multiple championships when James is here." With all these shakeups, these are big talking shakeups. "We're changing. We're changing. We're changing." You gotta have a plan B. What's the actual plan other than we're gonna shake things up and scare people and make a big show of it? What's the plan? If Mike's not the coach, who's gonna be the coach two years from now? Do you have a plan? Mike Greenberg: And are you gonna build it around James Harden? If so, how much better can you do than you've done?
Grumpy old men’s take. Ends at 3:51 mark. Steven A gives more “insider” info on the decision to not extend MDA past this year. Fertitta is making a name for himself as one who doesn’t mess around.
I mean the rockets are trying to force MDA out instead of firing him according to cyber, they deserve every bit of flack they are getting for the jerry springer drama they are bringing . Oh and before I forget...**** tillman
Gosh, when you're one of the league's big dog franchises, seems like everybody has a take on you even when you're not playing. This must be what it feels like to post on LakersGround.net
